The statement "because consciousness does not apprehend its object" is refuted by the very reason that "it is not its consciousness." Whatever is ascertained by both of us to be consciousness apprehends its own object and completely determines it, just like the consciousness that arises in other states in future lives, because the entering consciousnesses have the characteristic of distinguishing in each object. Since the connecting mind does not completely determine the object in that way, it is not consciousness. Here, it is also not permissible to retort that it is the same as the mind in cessation, because it is not accepted as consciousness itself. Therefore, here, not apprehending the object is completely non-determination, not non-existence, like this, at that time, it is not that the dharma does not exist, but it exists but is not completely determined. Because the place of consciousness, such as the eye, is not completely perfect. Starting from the statement "even if the consciousness is fainting," up to the statement "its ripening consciousness is all seeds," and then to the statement "established there," it is a summary, because it is easy to understand, it is not explained. The so-called "connecting those who have been cut off" refers to those who have obtained a body. The so-called "sense faculty with form" refers to those other than consciousness. The so-called "holding" refers to completely holding. The so-called "other than the alaya consciousness, different from it" refers to the entering consciousness. For example, because the places are determined separately. That is the six, such as the eye. This shows that there is no single holder. The place of eye consciousness is the eye itself. Similarly, the place of ear consciousness and so on is also the ear and so on. Whichever's place is whichever

it will also be cut off. For example, dead bodies are all abandoned by the alaya consciousness. If it is said that the body's faculties have grasped and pervaded the body, that is also not possible. Because the body's faculties can also be grasped. If it is said that it is grasping, then it will be impossible to grasp, because there is no other grasper. The Blessed One also said that death occurs when the body's faculties are completely abandoned, not when consciousness is completely abandoned. For example: life, warmth, and consciousness, when these abandon the body, after abandoning it, the body at that time is like wood without consciousness. Therefore, the body's faculties should not be grasped. Consciousness, name, and form, like arrows, exist in a mutually dependent way. If there is no mature consciousness, that is also not possible. The Blessed One said that name and form are conditioned by consciousness. Among them, name refers to the four non-material aggregates. Form refers to hard matter. The cause of these two, consciousness, is transmitted from one moment to another, becoming existence itself, which is also not other than the alaya consciousness. If name is spoken, the entering consciousness is grasped, and if consciousness is spoken, what is mainly shown? If self-grasping is removed from consciousness, it is not beyond consciousness. These words can only be established if there is alaya consciousness. Like this, it exists continuously in the existence of the body. Therefore, it is said to be the cause of name and form, because it pervades the body. Wise Ananda, if the consciousness of a young man or woman is cut off and stopped, will name and form grow, expand, and extend? Blessed One, no. And so on, these words are also not established without alaya consciousness. Other consciousnesses cannot be food for sentient beings, this refers to entering consciousness. Because it does not pervade in the two samadhis and the state of non-perception.

Also correct. Without food, there is no place to exist in the three realms. The sutras do not say that the cessation of the mind and mental factors in meditative absorption is food, because the amount of coarse food, etc., is fixed. Thus, for the time being, it is shown that without the Alaya-vijnana, it is not permissible to connect oneself in the desire realm. When one dies from here and is born in a place of meditative absorption, etc., it also shows that it is unreasonable in the form and formless realms. When one dies in the desire realm and is born upwards, that is the meaning. The afflicted consciousness is that which possesses the afflictions of tasting the flavor of samadhi in that place. It is unreasonable for others to possess seeds, because the mind that operates in the desire realm is not seed-possessing, because there is no simultaneous arising and ceasing. The mind in meditative absorption is also not seed-possessing, because one thing cannot be both a seed and a seed-possessing thing. The mind that operates in the form realm, even if obtained in another lifetime, cannot be a seed, because there is no Alaya-vijnana of habit. The continuum of form is also not seed-possessing, because it does not accept form. Therefore, it is necessary to establish the Alaya-vijnana, in which the habitations reside, as the basis for the mind of that place, which has been without beginning. Furthermore, regarding being born in the formless realm, etc., the afflicted virtuous minds of those who have them, refers to the afflicted virtuous minds of those who enjoy the taste of meditative absorption, which also become without a basis, which is to say that there is no Vipaka. At that time, all minds and mental factors become its objects. Therefore, it is necessary to accept that its basis is the Vipaka-vijnana. At that very moment, etc., in the formless realms, the supramundane mind, without outflows, is manifested, and when it arises, no mundane mind arises other than that without outflows, because when it ceases, there is no Vipaka included in the formative aggregate, so the formative aggregate itself becomes degenerate,
