It is not wanting that way. Because for it, the very act of sowing can serve as a seed, and what is not sown is not. What is evident then? If there is no generation of habits such as hearing, then its fruit, such as much hearing, will not appear. The external fruit, such as rice, the seed of which, even if sown, is sometimes wasted, but craving and so on, even if not sown, can arise, so the internal seed is not like that. Because there is no waste or arising whether done or not done, it is not the same as the external. If the internal seed is different from the external seed, then how would it not contradict what was previously said that the Alaya-vijñāna is the totality of seeds? The answer is: The internal is the condition for the external. Like this, it is the basis of habits. And so on. Like this, the seeds of rice and so on, for it, the seeds of the habits of the actions of the beings that eat it, those that dwell in the Alaya-vijñāna, are proven to appear there. Therefore, it is not separate from it. Again it is said: Space, earth, wind, sun, directions, ocean, rivers, etc., are correct parts of internal action, existing like the external. And so on. Furthermore, what is the entering consciousness? It should be seen as capable of closely using all bodies and all beings such as gods. It means capable of closely using, because the object and aspect are completely cut off. One is the consciousness of condition, the second is capable of closely using. Closely using and completely using, and its entering action, arise from the mind. There, closely using is feeling. And so on. By briefly stating the treatise that distinguishes the middle and the extremes, it shows that it is endowed with faith and consistent with the treatise. All dharmas are combined with consciousness. And so on. The Alaya-vijñāna and the entering consciousness, the two are the condition of one. This is strengthened by scripture, just as sons say to their mother: We are yours. For those, it is the same. It is like saying: You are mine. Therefore, one arises from the other, the Alaya-vijñāna and the entering consciousness are mutual

It is the cause of conditions! "The first of dependent arising" refers to that which can distinguish self-nature. "The second" refers to that which can distinguish between the pleasant and the unpleasant. "The cause of the master" actually refers to ignorance and so on. By the power of these, actions and so on arise in good and bad destinies. The six consciousnesses arise from three conditions, namely the master condition, the object condition, and the immediately preceding condition. Among them, the eye is the master condition of eye consciousness, form is the object condition, and the immediately ceased mind is the immediately preceding condition, opening up opportunities. Just as these three give rise to eye consciousness, so too do ear consciousness and so on, in the same way, with the same meaning as before, each of their three arises in the same way. The so-called "cyclic existence" refers to that which can distinguish self-nature, because there are no other three conditions, so it must arise from the cause condition. Therefore, the conditions of these three dependent arisings are four. They should be combined according to circumstances, and it should be understood that none of the minds and mental factors fully possess all four conditions. Through the teachings of oneself and others, the Alaya consciousness is established, and it is established from the lineage that possesses it, because reason and scripture cannot establish it separately. As it is said in the scriptures, "Do not follow me because of faith." Like this, other than the Alaya consciousness, there is no defilement and purification, they are all in the Alaya consciousness, and they exist for my sake. Among them, because it is defilement, it is defilement, and that which becomes defilement is impure, which is a synonym. Because it is pure, it is pure, that is, pure. There are three kinds of defilement: that which is done by affliction, that which is done by karma, and that which is done by birth. There are two kinds of purification, the worldly is temporary, merely suppressing afflictions. The transcendental is permanent, and the truth of the path can completely destroy habits.
