It is not enough to be content with merely abandoning (the world); a Bodhisattva is not like that. Therefore, in this view, it should be understood that Bodhisattvas abide in a non-abiding manner. Regarding the complete abandonment of the abode of the realm of Nirvana without remainder of aggregates, without regard for the benefit of sentient beings, it is said: Just as the Hearers do not regard the benefit of sentient beings, the pure and impure aggregates are the support. These (Hearers) have three foods—lump food, contact, and mental thought, and consciousness—that cause their support to abide. Therefore, their support is three. The pure support that causes abiding is those very four, such as lump food. Because the true supports of those such as Hearers abide in this way. Showing the abode is also those very four, that is, the food that shows the abode is that of the Buddhas, namely, the four. Thus, the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, show as they show, in order to make the givers of sentient beings extremely happy, and for the purpose of accumulating merit, but not to do the work of those foods. At the time of partaking of those foods, the gods above the Buddhas take them and give them to other sentient beings, and those beings also attain enlightenment through that cause. All of these should be understood as the same profound truth. Although this is so, the characteristics of the Buddha's non-birth and birth should be understood as ten types: completely eliminating universal ignorance, completely eliminating differences, being independent in taking, being independent in abiding, being independent in abandoning, the characteristic of non-duality, merely appearing, being like an illusion, abiding greatly without abiding, and accomplishing great benefit. In these ten ways, the Tathagatas should be understood as not abiding in samsara and nirvana. Completely knowing reality, being good at abandoning, knowing no things, knowing the nature of no things, being without object and without discrimination, completely abandoning the mind, mind, etc.

Attaining the natural state, as well as the equality of mind, as well as non-attachment to things, as well as arising from the object of focus. The spontaneously accomplished deeds of the Buddhas are also accomplished in ten ways, namely, complete abandonment, as well as spontaneous accomplishment in action, as well as spontaneous accomplishment of the agent, as well as spontaneous accomplishment of karma, as well as spontaneous accomplishment of non-existence, as well as spontaneous accomplishment of existence, as well as being superior to the former, as well as action being ultimate, as well as action not being ultimate. In ten ways, although the Buddha does not perform the act of eating with food, he shows that the body abides by food, for the sake of accumulating merit for sentient beings, as well as for the sake of truly showing conformity with the Dharma, as well as for the sake of following the enjoyment of reason, as well as for the sake of learning non-attachment, as well as for the sake of gathering offerings, as well as for the sake of truly knowing the initiation of diligence, as well as for the sake of fully maturing the roots of virtue, as well as for the sake of showing oneself to be without attachment, as well as for the sake of showing respect for work, as well as for the sake of fully perfecting the arising of aspirations. Among these, what will be spoken of below, the abiding, number, and profundity of activity, is shown in verses: There is no difference and it is immeasurable. This is called the profundity of abiding. Among these, "no difference" means that the Dharmakaya has no difference. "Immeasurable" means manifesting enlightenment from many supports. Activity is immeasurable and one. This is called the profundity of number. Because although the Buddhas are many, their activity is one. Unstable, possessing stable activity. The Buddhas possess the three bodies. Among these, since the Buddhas possess the three bodies, the activity of perfect enjoyment is stable, while the activity of emanation is unstable; such things are the profundity of activity. The profundity of manifest complete enlightenment is shown in verses: There is no manifest complete Buddha. This refers to the fact that there is no person, Dharma, or object. Everything is neither Buddha nor non-Buddha. This refers to such things.
