Then, as those have been shown, it should also be shown in this way. Just as a mute wants to experience things, like there is no speech, the non-conceptual arising from union is also like that. Just as a mute experiences things and there is no speech, that is the real non-conceptual. Unlike a mute experiencing things, like there is speech, similarly, the non-conceptual obtained after the non-conceptual should be observed. Here, speech is considered to be the speech of letters. 'The ignorant want to experience things,' for this sentence, here it is considered that those who are not proficient in terms are the ignorant. These ignorances should also be combined with the three wisdoms and metaphors like the mute. 'The five want to experience things,' for this sentence, saying five, it should be seen as including the non-discriminating eyes and so on. The wanting and experiencing of those is to be combined with the three wisdoms like the mute. 'Like the mind experiences things,' for this sentence, just as the mind discriminates and experiences things, the experience obtained after that is also like that, it is the conclusion of discrimination. Wanting scriptures without knowing them is like arising from union. Just as experiencing the Dharma and meaning of that scripture, that is non-conceptual. Here, Dharma is considered to be merely letters. Just as knowing the scriptures and experiencing Dharma and meaning, it should be seen as obtained after that. Mentioning the order, here it is shown by Dharma and meaning and wisdom. 'Like someone closes their eyes,' and so on, the verses show the difference between the non-conceptual and what is obtained after that. 'Like the sky,' just as the sky is pervasive, unpolluted, non-discriminating, examinable, and unexaminable, the wisdom of non-conceptuality also pervades all dharmas with the single taste of emptiness, therefore it is pervasive. Because it does not pollute all dharmas, therefore it is unpolluted. Because it does not discriminate itself, therefore it is non-discriminating. It is not something to be examined by others.

It is not to be examined by discrimination, but the non-discriminating wisdom is to be viewed in that way. In this regard, form is like an appearance, and the subsequent wisdom is similar. Just as the appearance of form is discriminated in the sky, so too should the wisdom attained after that be viewed; the term for that which is to be discriminated is 'no discrimination.' Furthermore, if the Buddha himself, who is endowed with such non-discriminating wisdom, is without discrimination towards sentient beings, then how can his actions for the benefit of sentient beings occur without discrimination? This is illustrated by the verse with the example of the jewel and the musical instrument: 'Like the jewel and the musical instrument.' Just as the wish-fulfilling jewel, without discrimination, performs the actions of fulfilling the desires of sentient beings, and the divine musical instruments, without being struck, produce sounds according to the desires of the sentient beings born there, so too, although the Buddhas do not possess discrimination, various activities will naturally occur. The profundity of non-discrimination is to be expressed: Does this wisdom engage with the object to be discriminated, which is referred to as 'other-power'? Or does it focus on something else, and what would be the result? If it focuses on the object to be discriminated, then its non-discrimination is not established. If it is said that it does not focus on something else, then its object of focus, the other, does not exist. Therefore, it is said: 'Not on that, nor on another.' That is to say, for the time being, not on that, meaning it is impossible to focus on the object to be discriminated, because it is non-discriminating. Nor on another, because it focuses on the nature of the very dharma that is called 'other-power,' and its nature and the dharma itself are not to be spoken of as being one or different. Therefore, it should not be said that it focuses on the object to be discriminated, or that it focuses on something else. Furthermore, is it knowledge, or is it not? What would be the result? If it is knowledge, then how could it be without knowledge? If it is the nature of non-knowledge, then how could it be wisdom?
