That which is called "all" means that which is not stained by all obscurations, and that is Suchness. Therefore, that Dharma is the Dharma of non-staining, which is its definition. Since the various distinctions of actions have not been shown, therefore, what the actions of the samādhis of the Bodhisattvas are should be shown. Therein, relying correctly on samādhi, the Bodhisattvas meditate on the pāramitās. Similarly, relying correctly on that, they bring sentient beings to complete maturity. Having desired with magical powers and so forth, they enter. Similarly, by the power of that, they completely purify the Buddha-fields. If one gains mastery over the mind, then just as one desires, one makes it into the nature of gold and so forth. Similarly, by the power of that, one accomplishes all the Buddha-dharmas, and those are its actions. Since the time has come to speak of higher knowledge, it is spoken of. Therein, non-conceptual wisdom is considered higher knowledge. That also has three aspects: the non-conceptual that arises from application, namely, the non-conceptual of thorough search; the main body; and that which is obtained from its aftermath. Therein, that which is dominated by wisdom is the first higher knowledge. The wisdom of inner self-nature is the second higher knowledge. The wisdom in which one abides is the third higher knowledge. Therein, for the time being, non-conceptuality itself is what is to be accomplished, so its reality is the fruit, and thorough search is what has become the cause. Since that which has become the fruit is also what has become the cause that is obtained afterward, if that is accomplished, then it will be as if both have been accomplished. Therefore, first, for the time being, the essence of non-conceptual wisdom should be spoken of. Here, that essence itself is called a characteristic, namely: The knowledge of Bodhisattvas, The essence of non-conceptuality, The five aspects are completely abandoned, And there is no grasping at the true meaning. It should be applied in this way. If merely the absence of attention to the five aspects is itself non-conceptual wisdom, then falling asleep, being drunk, being heedless, and so forth would also become non-conceptual wisdom.

Furthermore, if it is thought that what transcends the realm of conceptualization and analysis is non-conceptual, then, consequently, all of the second dhyana and so forth would also be subject to the fault of being non-conceptual. If that were the case, then worldly beings would also be subject to the fault of attaining non-conceptualization. Alternatively, if it is thought that the state in which mind and mental factors do not arise, such as the cessation of perception and feeling, is non-conceptual, then it would not become wisdom itself, because there is no mind during the time of cessation samapatti and so forth. Alternatively, if it is thought that consciousness is like the nature of form, then, consequently, just as form is material, consciousness would also become material. Alternatively, if whatever engages in clearly grasping the meaning of suchness is non-conceptual, then that itself would become conceptual, because it cognizes, "This is suchness." If wisdom, having completely abandoned these five aspects, were to engage in the meaning of suchness, then it would not clearly grasp, "This is the meaning of suchness." Like that, the characteristic of non-conceptual wisdom is not to focus on the meaning of suchness, but it is not of a diverse nature like eye consciousness, this is the concluding statement. These meanings themselves also indicate the first verse. Thus, having shown the essence, we shall show where it will arise. The place of that wisdom thus shown is the mind. If its place is the mind, then the mind is called mind because it is what thinks, so it is not reasonable to call entering the place of mind non-conceptual. Furthermore, if there is no mind, then the fault of attaining non-consciousness would occur. In order to eliminate these two faults, the verse was spoken: "The knowledge of Bodhisattvas, the place of non-conceptualization," and so forth. Its place is not the mind, because it does not think of meaning. Nor is it without mind, because its place arises from the state of the mind's projection, so it is from the cause of the mind.
