Just as a coarse cub is expelled by a fine (thing), so too, the coarse seeds of defilement, called habitual tendencies, which abide in the ālaya-vijñāna, are expelled by the opposing (force), that is its definition. Differentiated by capability, it refers to being born wherever the benefit of sentient beings is seen, if one abides comfortably in a capable dhyāna, and there the dhyāna will not decline either. Such (ability) is not present in the śrāvakas. Differentiated by direct realization, it refers to being unimpeded in all realms of the world, which is directly realized through supernormal knowledge and dhyāna. Differentiated by action, shaking refers to shaking the worlds, burning refers to burning those (worlds), illuminating refers to being seen as illuminating with light. Showing refers to making others see the Buddhas and so forth of many worlds with the light that others cannot (do).

The great miracle of giving is gathering bodhisattvas from other realms. Manifesting great miracles is a great miracle, and those that have just been taught are the very ones that sravakas do not have. What is the asceticism that the bodhisattva is said to practice? It refers to all these ten kinds of asceticism. Among them, the asceticism of not distinguishing and being free from all defilements means that not distinguishing here means not being liberated. This is liberation, which is neither liberated from samsara nor is it all defilements. The remaining nine asceticisms are easy to understand. The intention of what was said after thinking should be explained, among them, How is it that a bodhisattva is able to give? To this question, because he realizes that all sentient beings are like himself, therefore he does not give because of this. How is it that he wants to give? For giving with arrogance, etc., there is no desire like this, because he wants the giving of the bodhisattva itself, which is the meaning of not tasting, and it is considered not to taste. Therefore, not tasting is giving without tasting. How is it that he has faith in giving? Because he himself has obtained to do giving, he does not act because of other causes. How does one enter into giving? To this question, it is considered that giving is by nature, and in this way, one does not need to enter oneself, because stinginess has been completely abandoned. Therefore, others who abide also become capable. How is it that one is very happy with giving? It is not that one gives occasionally, but that one always gives everything one has. How is the greatness of giving? Having no essence is not being distracted, that is, giving through samadhi like this, because one is not distracted, one should give, this is a synonym. How is giving pure? Arising is completely abiding, stinginess is the root.

It causes to arise. If miserliness increases, it causes to arise and brings it close to arising. If asked how is giving perfected, if "end" refers to nirvana, if one does not abide like a Shravaka. Like this, it is not controlled by the opposing aspects of giving, etc., but it is controlled by giving, etc., because it is not controlled by its opposing aspects. If asked how is giving inexhaustible, inexhaustible here is considered to be nirvana, like this, one does not abide in nirvana like a Shravaka, this is its definition. The statement in the Sutra Pitaka, "Monks, I am a killer of life," etc., is to show the intention of those words. If asked how is it to engage in misconduct with desire, because these desires are evil, therefore one acts in that way. Abiding on the other shore of knowledge means having reached and abiding on the other shore of knowledge, this is its definition. If asked how is one with wrong views, for all that is included, such as form, because they themselves are wrong, therefore it is the completely imputed, and seeing the other-dependent as it is, the completely imputed is seen as different from the other-dependent, this is its definition. The remaining paths of the ten non-virtuous actions are easy to understand. Also, the statements in other sutras such as "The permanent dharma is the Buddha's dharma," etc., "The undefiled dharma is the Buddha's dharma," etc., if asked what is the intention of these words, it will now be explained. The permanent dharma is the Dharmakaya, therefore, the dharma is the permanent dharma. The severed dharma refers to how many obscurations are completely severed, therefore, in this sense, it is called the severed dharma. The object of focus dharma is the Buddha's dharma, the actions of sentient beings and their antidotes, the eighty-four thousand dharmas, are the object of focus, therefore, the dharma is the object of focus dharma. Non-virtuous dharma
