May all beings attain it, and be exceedingly joyful in that way. For a moment, what is the nature of those excellent pure intentions? What holds them together? If there are verses that follow, they will show its nature. Here, for a moment, on the ground of practice with faith, one accumulates merit well, and all white dharmas are perfected. 'Obtaining sharp patience' means that among the three kinds of patience, such as the small, it is a synonym for abiding in the supreme patience. In order to show what is purified by focusing on what, it is said, 'In the Great Vehicle.' Where? In the profound and vast teachings. That is one's own vehicle, the vehicle of the Bodhisattvas. Here, patience is the absence of self in phenomena. Vastness is the samadhi such as the Treasury of Space. In order to show how it is purified by what kind of attention, if all phenomena are understood only by discrimination, then that nature should be shown, that is, desire and faith. Purity is pure intention itself. Among them, desire is superior desire. Faith is belief. In order to show what its sign is, 'first' etc. is the first pure intention. 'There' means that in that pure category, the Buddhas will be seen, that is the sign. 'All dharmas' means the time of equipoise. In order to show what its benefit is, abiding in it is the realization of enlightenment, and by finding the means to obtain it, it will be obtained without difficulty. The verses show what pure intention is, what the cause is, what kind of patience, what the object is, what kind of attention, and what the sign is. Those are the establishment of the body of excellent pure intention. 'The cause of ruin is perverse wisdom,' where perverse wisdom is grasping in a reversed way, like the heretics. That also destroys it. The rest of the meaning is easy to understand. By establishing the number of incompatible and counteracting qualities, and by the basis of the place where all the Buddha's dharmas can be truly accomplished, that is,

All Buddhas, with the substance of the cause of all dharmas, are the second category of establishment. Therefore, there is neither increase nor decrease beyond the six perfections. Relying on non-distraction, one will realize the suchness of the dharmas of the Buddhas. Therefore, relying on the perfection of meditation, with the perfection of wisdom, one will truly realize suchness as it is, which is the concluding statement. The remaining meanings of these are easy to understand. Because the third cause of establishment is in accordance with fully ripening all sentient beings, that is, in accordance with fully ripening all sentient beings, therefore it transforms into six in this way. Therefore, it is also established as six. For those whose minds are equal, in order to establish equality, it is the perfection of meditation. To liberate those whose minds are equally established, it is the perfection of wisdom, because it causes them to ripen. Those who should be instructed, means that instructions should be given. If one asks, by what characteristics do generosity and so on obtain the name of perfection? Because worldly people and shravakas also have generosity and so on, therefore the characteristics of these must be clearly stated. The characteristics of the six perfections are explained by dwelling in a superior place, that is, because of dwelling in the mind of enlightenment. A superior object means that all inner and outer self-natures are purified, and there is nothing else besides this. The Bodhisattva here is completely enjoying all things. A superior purpose means that all generosity is for the benefit of all sentient beings and brings happiness. Superior skillful means refers to being upheld here by being skilled in the skillful means of the purity of the three spheres, neither clinging to the object of generosity, nor clinging to the giver, nor clinging to the receiver. Thus, generosity and so on are upheld by non-discriminating wisdom. Superior dedication refers to such generosity and so on
