It should be known that what is explained in the interval of stating "all is non-existent" is the thoroughly conceptualized. Because the nature of other-powered is shown by examples such as illusion, if someone doubts this, thinking it is wrong. To dispel the doubt about the wrongness, the example of illusion is used to explain the nature of other-powered. For example, the elephant and horse conjured by illusion do not actually exist, but they can appear as real, so it should be viewed in the same way, in order to dispel the doubt. Furthermore, if someone doubts, how can mind and mental factors, which are without actual existence, arise without an object of focus? To counter this doubt, the mirage is used as an analogy. The place where the mirage appears is like the mind and mental factors, while the water is like the actual existence of things. Therefore, just as when a mirage appears, even though there is no actual existence of water, it can still generate the perception of water. Similarly, when mind and mental factors appear, they can also generate the perception of things that do not exist. Furthermore, to dispel the doubt of children, namely, if things do not actually exist, how can one obtain agreeable and disagreeable experiences? Therefore, the other-powered is like a dream. Just as in a dream, things do not exist as they appear, but one can still experience agreeable and disagreeable feelings, so it should be understood here as well. Furthermore, if things do not actually exist, then how can the results of virtuous and non-virtuous actions, namely, agreeable and disagreeable outcomes, manifest? To dispel this doubt, the example of a reflection is used to explain the other-powered that is in accordance with the Dharma. Just as a reflection itself has no actual existence, but the perception of the form itself can arise in the reflection, even though the actual existence of the form is not so. Similarly, here, although the actual existence of agreeable and disagreeable results is not so, it should still be regarded as an object of focus. Furthermore, if things do not actually exist, then how can various different consciousnesses arise? To counter this doubt, the example of an optical illusion, which is similar to the other-powered, is used to explain. Just as a shadow play can be transformed into various different forms according to one's desire.

Just as there, things that dazzle the eyes have no meaning, but still appear in various forms, this is the object. Similarly, consciousness is also like that, even if there are no various meanings, it appears as various meanings. Furthermore, if there is no meaning, how can various verbal expressions arise? In order to dispel this doubt, it is determined in this way, just like an echo. Just as, even if there is no meaning, an echo can be heard, similarly, even if there are no various verbal expressions, it will be noticed. Furthermore, if there is no meaning, how can the minds and mental factors of those in meditative equipoise notice worldly meanings? Also, how does the mind in meditative equipoise truly know and truly see? For this doubt, in order to counteract it, the example of the moon in water, which is in accordance with the Dharma, is shown. Just as there is no meaning of the moon in the water, but because of the moisture and clarity, it can be noticed in the water, similarly, even if the mind of the meditator has no meaning of an object, it can still be noticed. Here, like the moon in water, because it has the nature of moisture, it is samadhi. Furthermore, if there is no meaning, in order to accomplish the deeds of sentient beings, those Bodhisattvas who have realized suchness, for the benefit of sentient beings, first generate the mind of enlightenment, and then take my body in those places, for this doubt, the example of an illusion, which is in accordance with the power of others, is shown. Just as an illusion has no meaning, but the desired is accomplished through the power of illusion, and the meaning of the illusion is noticed, similarly, even if there is no meaning of taking my body, it should be seen that the meaning of taking my body, which is the agent of benefiting all sentient beings, is noticed. Considering what meaning did the Bhagavan show the eight examples of illusion and so on, which do not exist? It will be shown. Among them, the example of illusion is the antidote to the six internal sense bases of self-nature, namely the eye and so on, because like the elephant of illusion, although they do not exist, they should be regarded as being noticed.
