It is called a seed. Therefore, these are the completely transformed Ālayavijñāna. The ultimate truth is also the Ālayavijñāna, that is the seed of all dharmas. Like this, the seeds of everything have six forms. Moreover, they are momentary, because both perish as soon as they arise, and it is impossible for them to always be the nature of seeds, and likewise, there is no difference at all times. Arising together is not past, not future, not other, but what it is at the time of the seed, that itself is what produces the fruit. That is considered to be continuously produced. That is the Ālayavijñāna as the basis, until the antidote arises. The external is also until the root exists, and until maturity exists. Therefore, it is not that all arise from all seeds, but each is determined, from that seed that arises. Dependent on conditions, it is not that all arise from all seeds, but when whatever condition is obtained, that will arise. What is called established by its own fruit is that its own fruit arises from its own seed, that is, from Ālayavijñāna arises Ālayavijñāna itself, and from grain arises grain itself, thus temporarily fruit arises from seed. The characteristics of habituation should be shown as they are, it should be applied to stable things, but not to moving things, like the wind. The wind does not hold the application, because even at a distance, what is applied to it does not leave a trace. At a distance, even at a distance of a hundred yojanas, the smell will follow. What is called unstated means that for what is unstated, smell is its meaning. For garlic that smells bad, and for things that smell good, it is not like that, but it is applied to what is unstated. It is applied to what is suitable for application, but not to what is not suitable for application, such as stones, silver, gold, etc. It is applied to what can hold the application, therefore it is called application, that is, it is applied to what is suitable for application. What is called applying with connection is not for what has no connection, but it means arising without interruption.

Furthermore, 'not other than that' means other than that itself, liberated from that which is not it, one does not cultivate anything other than the ālaya-vijñāna. All those moments, etc., exist in the ālaya-vijñāna. It does not intervene between the entering consciousness of the moment itself and the arising of the antidote, or for as long as saṃsāra exists, because it is the definite cause of virtue, etc., depending on the conditions of merit and non-merit and the fluctuating activity of the mind, it is the ripening of good and non-good paths, for the entering consciousness, all dissimilar dharmas should be combined. Whatever, like that, the ālaya-vijñāna possesses those qualities, therefore it should be cultivated, not the six consciousnesses, because there is no connection, and the consciousness itself is fluctuating. Because it contradicts the three differences. Regarding the statement, 'Because it enters in different ways with different supports, different objects, and different intentions.' In order to refute the example that 'the later moment arises from the earlier moment,' because there are no simultaneous moments. That is to say, moments cannot exist simultaneously, if they arise and cease simultaneously, they would become the place of habitual tendencies. If it is thought that the similar consciousness, although not connected to the kind that is similar to it, can be an obstacle, then if it acts on the kind, it will become other, and it will also become other kinds, because the eyes, etc., are similar to form, so they will also become obstacles to each other. Furthermore, the two seeds, inner and outer, previously mentioned, are considered to be arising and throwing. Among them, the seed that causes arising is until the external fruit ripens. The inner seed causes arising until the very end. What is thrown is the unsown external thing. Death is internal, the body, even later, will not be unsuitably thrown away and remain. If it has the cause of the seed of birth, why will it not decay? Even in a later time, it will not follow even a little.
