Having truly transcended from dwelling in the liberation of peace, abiding in accordance with liberation, whatever mind and mental factors are truly attained are ceased. The four abodes of mastery are to be known by two liberations. Four are to be known by one liberation. Through the liberations, one should generate faith in the object of focus. Through the abodes of mastery, one subdues in order to have power. Forms belonging to sentient beings and non-sentient beings are called small and large. The forms of humans and gods are called inferior and superior. The remainder is just as it arises from liberation. Having subdued the object of focus through the abodes of mastery, whatever concentration and wisdom are truly attained, abiding in making the sphere of exhaustion increase through the spheres of exhaustion, and the mind and mental factors that correspond to them are called the spheres of exhaustion. Why are exhaustion and so forth established as exhaustion from the spheres of exhaustion? Because it is the attainment of pervading form that possesses a place. The remainder is like liberation, combine them as they correspond. Through the spheres of exhaustion, the liberations are accomplished. What is without affliction?
