What exists as it is are: the Four Noble Truths, the sixteen aspects, Suchness, all conditioned things are impermanent, all conditioned things are suffering, all phenomena are without self, Nirvana is peace, emptiness, wishlessness, and signlessness. What is the necessity of complete accomplishment? It is transformation. Among the sixteen aspects, how many aspects of emptiness are there? Two. How many aspects of wishlessness are there? Six. How many aspects of signlessness are there? Eight. What is the object of purifying conduct? For conduct of desire, it is impurity. For conduct of hatred, it is loving-kindness. For conduct of ignorance, it is dependent origination, which arises from this cause. For conduct of pride, it is the differentiation of elements. For conduct of conceptualization, it is mindfulness of breathing in and breathing out. What is the object of the wise? It is being skilled in the aggregates, skilled in the elements, skilled in the sources, skilled in dependent origination, and skilled in what is and is not possible. How does one observe being skilled in what is and is not possible? Observe from being skilled in dependent origination. What is the difference between being skilled in dependent origination and being skilled in what is and is not possible? Because phenomena manifest from phenomena, and because one has completely abandoned causelessness and incompatible causes, it is being skilled in dependent origination. Because one completely grasps the arising of a result that is in accordance with the cause, it is being skilled in what is and is not possible. What is the object of purifying afflictions? The lower grounds are coarseness. The higher grounds are peacefulness. Suchness and the Four Noble Truths. When diligently studying the Dharma and analyzing it, with how many kinds of reasoning does one analyze? One analyzes with four kinds of reasoning: relative reasoning, functional reasoning, proving reasoning, and the nature of Dharma reasoning. What is relative reasoning? It is that when conditioned things arise, they depend on conditions. What is functional reasoning? It is that phenomena with different individual characteristics

The aggregates each perform their own functions. What is the reasoning for establishing a reason? It is to show that the meaning to be established does not contradict valid cognition. What is the reasoning of the nature of phenomena? It is that phenomena that have existed with their own and common characteristics since beginningless time are known as the nature of phenomena. What is the diligent search that strives to analyze phenomena with reason? There are four kinds of diligent search: diligent search for names, diligent search for things, diligent search for establishing entities, and diligent search for establishing distinctions. What is the diligent search for names? It is to contemplate that the characteristics of the collections of names, collections of words, and collections of letters are not completely established. What is the diligent search for things? It is to contemplate that the characteristics of the aggregates, elements, and sense bases are not completely established. What is the diligent search for establishing entities? What is it? It is to contemplate the connection between what is said and what is to be said as merely the cause of the designation of establishing entities. What is the diligent search for establishing distinctions? It is to contemplate the connection between what is said and what is to be said as merely the cause of the designation of establishing distinctions. What is the complete knowledge of striving for the diligent search for phenomena as it is? There are four kinds of complete knowledge as it is: knowing that searching for names is complete knowledge as it is, knowing that searching for things, knowing that searching for establishing entities, and knowing that searching for establishing distinctions is complete knowledge as it is. What is knowing that searching for names is complete knowledge as it is? It is knowing that names are not perceived. What is knowing that searching for things is complete knowledge as it is? It is similarly knowing that the characteristics of things are not perceived. What is knowing that searching for establishing entities is complete knowledge as it is? It is knowing that entities are not perceived as substantial. What is knowing that searching for establishing distinctions is complete knowledge as it is? It is knowing that distinctions are not perceived as substantial. What is the yoga of striving to meditate on phenomena?
