One aspect of it is regarded as unparalleled. It is one aspect of the Dharma realm and the sense bases. It is to abandon attachment to the supreme self-substance. Thus, in this way, the methods of detailed differentiation are limitless. Again, in brief, the detailed differentiations of the aggregates, elements, and sense bases are of three kinds: detailed differentiation by the characteristic of complete imputation, detailed differentiation by the characteristic of discrimination, and detailed differentiation by the characteristic of the nature of reality. Among these, what is detailed differentiation by the characteristic of complete imputation? It is whatever is universally conceived of as "I," "sentient being," "life," "generator," "nourisher," "person," "born of power," or "son of power" with respect to the aggregates, elements, and sense bases. What is detailed differentiation by the characteristic of discrimination? It is the aggregates, elements, and sense bases themselves. What is detailed differentiation by the characteristic of the nature of reality? It is that the aggregates, elements, and sense bases themselves are without self, and there is no sentient being, life, generator, nourisher, person, born of power, or son of power, but the absence of self is itself existent. Again, there are four kinds of detailed differentiation: detailed differentiation by characteristic, detailed differentiation by type, detailed differentiation by body, and detailed differentiation by continuity. What is detailed differentiation by characteristic? It is the detailed differentiation of the aggregates, elements, and sense bases each by their own characteristic. What is detailed differentiation by type? It is the existence as substance, imputed existence, conventional existence, ultimate existence, form, non-form, visible, invisible, and so forth, as explained, of the aggregates, elements, and sense bases themselves. What is detailed differentiation by body? It is that there are as many aggregates, elements, and sense bases as there are bodies of sentient beings. What is detailed differentiation by continuity? It is the arising of each moment of the aggregates, elements, and sense bases. What does one who is skilled in detailed differentiation by characteristic fully understand? Who knows? Completely knows the complete understanding. What does one who is skilled in detailed classification of the body completely know? Completely knows the understanding of the unmade and encountered, and the understanding of the made but futile. What does one who is skilled in continuous detailed classification completely know? Completely knows the understanding of steadfastness. Furthermore, there are six types of detailed classifications of these aggregates, elements, and sense bases themselves: detailed classification by looking outward, detailed classification by looking inward, detailed classification by long duration, detailed classification by completely severed time, detailed classification by that time, and detailed classification by universally showing. What is detailed classification by looking outward? Mostly detailed classification by practicing in the desire realm. What is detailed classification by looking inward? All places of meditative stabilization. What is detailed classification by long duration? Of each ordinary person. What is detailed classification by completely severed time? Except for the final aggregates, elements, and sense bases of those who are learning and those who are not learning. What is detailed classification by that time? The final aggregates, elements, and sense bases of those who are not learning. What is detailed classification by universally showing? The aggregates, elements, and sense bases of the Buddhas and the noble Bodhisattvas who have reached the other shore are all universally shown. What is the summary? To look in eleven ways: summarized by characteristics, summarized by elements. Summarized by lineage, summarized by state, summarized by companions, summarized by direction, summarized by time, summarized by one direction, summarized by all, summarized by one summarizing one, summarized by ultimate meaning. What is summarized by characteristics? The individual characteristics of the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, by which they are regarded as summarized. What is summarized by elements? The seed of the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, which is the Alaya consciousness, is the summary of those. What is summarized by lineage? Although the aggregates, elements, and sense bases have different characteristics, the aggregates
