It is not land. Because it is not cultivated, it cannot be used as a seed. Therefore, if the Alaya-vijñana, which is the seed of all, is lacking, then the transcendental purification is also impossible. Because the habit of hearing is not suitable for completely holding its seed. If the Alaya-vijñana, which is the seed of all, is the cause of all defilements, then how can its antidote, the seed of the transcendental mind, be established? The transcendental mind is unmixed, therefore its habit is non-existent. If that habit does not exist, then it must be explained from where the seed arises. Answer: It arises from the seed of the habit of hearing, which is the co-operative cause of the extremely pure Dharmadhatu. Then, what is the habit of hearing? Is it also the nature of the Alaya-vijñana? If it is the nature of the Alaya-vijñana, then how can it be the seed of its antidote? If it is not its nature, then where should the seed of the habit of hearing be observed to be located? Answer: Depending on the Bodhi of the Buddhas, whatever becomes the habit of hearing, the place where it enters, enters the Vipaka-vijñana in a co-existent manner, like milk and water. It is not the Alaya-vijñana, because it is the seed of its antidote. In this regard, relying on small habits, it will become medium habits. Relying on medium habits, it will become large habits, because it has repeated hearing, thinking, and meditating. In this regard, the seed of the habit of hearing, whether small, medium, or large, should be regarded as the seed of the Dharmakaya. Because it is the antidote to the Alaya-vijñana, it is not the nature of the Alaya-vijñana; although it is mundane, it has become the seed of the transcendental mind because it is the co-operative cause of the extremely pure Dharmadhatu, which is transcendental. Even if the transcendental mind has not yet arisen, it is the antidote to the pervasive bondage of defilements, the antidote to going to bad destinies, and the antidote to certainly cutting off all misdeeds. Buddhas and Bodhi.

It is in accordance with meeting the Bodhisattva. For the first Bodhisattvas, even if they are worldly, they should be regarded as having been incorporated into the Dharmakaya; for the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, they should also be regarded as having been incorporated into the body of liberation. That is not the Alaya-vijñana, but the incorporation into the Dharmakaya and the body of liberation. Just as small, medium, and large gradually increase, so too the maturing consciousness decreases, and the abode also changes. If the abode completely changes, then all the seeds of the maturing consciousness will also become seedless and will be completely abandoned. How then can the Alaya-vijñana and the non-Alaya-vijñana, which exist together like water and milk, be completely diminished? Just as a swan drinks milk from water, when one is separated from worldly desires, the habits of the non-Samadhi ground diminish, while the habits of the Samadhi ground increase, thereby changing the abode. Those who enter into cessation are also not separated from consciousness, because it is said in the sutras, so they should reasonably not be separated from the maturing consciousness, because the arising of cessation is to counteract it. The initial arising of those who arise from cessation is also not, because there is no other way of arising except for the maturing consciousness to cease and connect itself. Some people think that there is consciousness after entering cessation, so it is with mind, but according to their view, that mind is unreasonable, because entering Samadhi is unreasonable, because it does not apprehend objects and aspects, because it cannot be non-virtuous and unspecified, so it will be in accordance with the roots of virtue, because contact apprehends objects, so there will be perception and feeling, because it is only the cessation of perception, so relying on it can enter Samadhi, because thoughts and faith and other roots of virtue will universally arise, because the support and the supported are inseparable, because there is a metaphor.
