It is long, because it does not exist, so it cannot arise from the absence of seed. Therefore, if there is no Alaya-vijnana, the pervasive afflictions of affliction are impossible. How is the pervasive affliction of karma impossible? Because of the cause of action, consciousness is impossible. If there is no consciousness, then because of the cause of grasping, existence is also impossible. How is the pervasive affliction of birth impossible? Self-connection is impossible. When the mind, having died from a place where it has not settled, dwells in the state of the intermediate being, the afflicted consciousness of the mind connects itself. That afflicted consciousness of the mind ceases in the state of the intermediate being, and the consciousness also faints in the mother's womb. If the mind consciousness itself faints, then relying on that fainting, the mind consciousness will enter the mother's womb. Therefore, two mind consciousnesses will enter the mother's womb together. The fainting of the mind consciousness cannot be the mind consciousness itself, because it is always in an afflicted state and does not perceive the object of the mind consciousness. Even if the mind consciousness faints, is the fainting of the mind consciousness the consciousness of all seeds? Or is it the consciousness that enters relying on it? If what faints is the consciousness of all seeds, then the so-called mind consciousness is just another name for the Alaya-vijnana. If what relies on it is the consciousness of all seeds, then the consciousness that is the cause, the reality of the basis, is not the consciousness of all seeds. How can the consciousness that is the object, the result, be the consciousness of all seeds? Therefore, whichever consciousness faints is not the mind consciousness, but the Vipaka-vijnana, which is the consciousness of all seeds. Thus it is established. The grasping of the colored sense organs of beings who have already completed self-connection should not be a consciousness other than the Vipaka-vijnana, because it is not the Vipaka-vijnana.

The other places are because they each have definite places and do not depend on others. A sense faculty with no consciousness is not possible. Consciousness and name and form, like an arrow and a house, exist in mutual dependence, and if there is no Vipāka-vijñāna (异熟识,རྣམ་པར་སྨིན་པའི་རྣམ་པར་ཤེས་པ་,विपाकविज्ञान,vipākavijñāna,resultant consciousness), it is not possible. Other consciousnesses also cannot be food for sentient beings, and if there is no Vipāka-vijñāna, then any of the six Vipāka-vijñānas, the food of sentient beings in the three realms, cannot be determined. When dying from here and being reborn in a place of Samadhi, if the consciousness of mind is afflicted, not connecting oneself and rebirth through Samadhi, and if there is no Vipāka-vijñāna, then another seed associated with the seed of the afflicted mind that has not been placed in Samadhi is not reasonable. Furthermore, for those who are born in the formless realm and have afflicted virtuous minds, if all the seeds do not have Vipāka-vijñāna, then the afflicted virtuous mind will become without seed and without basis. Therefore, when manifesting the supramundane mind, if there is no other mundane mind, then its activity will cease. When those born in the realm of neither perception nor non-perception manifest the supramundane mind of the realm of nothingness, both of their activities will cease, because the place of the supramundane consciousness is neither the activity of the realm of neither perception nor non-perception, nor the activity of the realm of nothingness, nor is the activity of Nirvana a place. When those who do good or do evil die, the body gradually loses temperature from the lower or upper part, and if there is no Ālayavijñāna (阿赖耶识,ཀུན་གཞི་རྣམ་པར་ཤེས་པ་,ālayavijñāna,ālayavijñāna,store consciousness), it is not possible. Therefore, all the afflictions of birth, if all the seeds do not have Vipāka-vijñāna, it is not possible. How is it that mundane purification is also not possible? Like this, for those who have not been freed from desire,

Since the mind abiding in the form realm has not been attained, in order to separate oneself from the desire realm's attachment with the virtuous mind abiding in the desire realm, when diligently practicing, the mind arising from the practice abiding in the desire realm also does not arise and cease together with the mind abiding in the form realm, therefore it has no impregnation, thus it cannot serve as a seed. The past mind abiding in the form realm, having been interrupted by other minds for many lifetimes, also cannot serve as the seed of the meditative stabilization mind. Similarly, all seeds of detachment from desire should be applied analogously as appropriate. Therefore, that which comes down through the ripening consciousness that is the seed of all, is the causal condition for the meditative stabilization mind abiding in the form realm. And the virtuous mind arising from practice is established as the dominant condition. Similarly, transcendental purification is also impossible without the ripening consciousness that is the seed of all. How is it impossible to have transcendental purification? The Blessed One has said, 'Relying on the sound of others and individually applying proper attention, from these causes arises right view.' If the attention arising from the sound of others imprints the ear consciousness or the mind consciousness, or both, then when properly attending to those dharmas, the ear consciousness will not arise for a while. The mind consciousness is also interrupted by other distracted consciousnesses. When the mind arising in accordance with proper attention arises, the habit of hearing imprinted by the mind consciousness ceases and passes away along with the habit, and has been gone for a long time. Then, from where will the mind arising in accordance with proper attention, which has that seed, arise later? Furthermore, the mundane mind arising in accordance with proper attention never arises and ceases together with the transcendental mind arising in accordance with right view. Therefore, it does not impreg
