In order to completely abandon the place of conceptualization, in order to completely abandon the place of the two extremes of samsara and nirvana, in order to completely abandon the place of being content with merely abandoning the afflictive obscurations, in order to completely abandon the place of the realm of nirvana without remainder, which does not consider the benefit of sentient beings. If someone asks, what is the difference between the wisdom of a Hearer and the wisdom of a Bodhisattva? It should be known that there are five differences. The difference of non-conceptualization is because of not conceptualizing the aggregates and other dharmas. The difference of not being limited to one lifetime is because of realizing that it is only that exhaustion, and engaging in all aspects of knowable things, and because the work for all sentient beings is not limited to one lifetime. The difference of the nature of non-abiding is because of non-abiding nirvana. The difference of permanence is because of not becoming exhausted and changing in the realm of nirvana. The difference of being unsurpassed is because above that there is no other Great Vehicle that is not it and is extremely superior. Here there is a verse: With the wisdom of the nature of great compassion, the five superior differences, the mundane and supramundane, the complete and not lasting are declared. When a Bodhisattva is thus endowed with the perfection of the qualities of higher discipline, higher mind, and higher wisdom, and obtains mastery over all fields and wealth, why do those sentient beings appear to be weary and distressed? Because they see the karma that has become an obstacle to them, and they see that if they approach those enjoyments, it will become an obstacle to cutting off the arising of virtuous dharmas, and they see that all births manifest, and they see that if they approach those enjoyments, it will become the cause of non-virtuous dharmas and so on, and they see that approaching those enjoyments themselves will become the cause of harming many other sentient beings. Therefore, sentient beings appear to be weary and distressed. Here there is a verse: Because of seeing the obscurations of karma and manifestation, and so on, and the cause of harm, Bodhisattvas say that sentient beings do not obtain enjoyments. Thus, the higher

The distinction of wisdom has been shown. How to observe the distinction of abandonment? The abandonment of Bodhisattvas is the non-abiding Nirvana. Its characteristic is: whatever completely abandons afflictions, etc., and does not completely abandon the place of Samsara, that is the transformation of the place. Among them, Samsara is the nature of other-power, belonging to the part of complete defilement. Nirvana is that itself belonging to the part of complete purification. The place is that itself belonging to both, that is, the nature of other-power. Transformation is the nature of other-power, and after the antidote of that itself arises, the part of complete defilement recedes and transforms into the part of complete purification. That transformation, if briefly summarized, has six aspects: the transformation of weakening and increasing is due to the power of faith and understanding, the habit of hearing remains; for those who have concerns, a small amount of affliction arises or does not arise. Transformation after realization is that of the Bodhisattvas who have entered the Bhumis, that is, up to the sixth Bhumi, because only that and not only that appear to abide closely. Transformation by meditation is that of those with obscurations, that is, up to the tenth Bhumi, because all signs do not appear, and only that itself appears. The transformation of the complete fruition is that of those without obscurations, because all signs do not appear, that itself appears extremely pure, and because they have obtained mastery over all signs. Inferior transformation is that of the Sravakas, because they realize the selflessness of the person, and because they turn their backs on Samsara, they completely abandon Samsara. Vast transformation is that of the Bodhisattvas, because they realize the selflessness of phenomena, and because they see peace in that itself, they abandon complete defilement without completely abandoning it. If the transformation of the Bodhisattvas is inferior, what is the fault? Because they do not consider the benefit of sentient beings, they greatly transcend the Dharma-nature of Bodhisattvas, and become the fault of being the same as the liberation of the Hinayana practitioners. What is the benefit of the vast transformation of the Bodhisattvas? Self-nature
