The four kinds of perfect knowledge should be understood as unsurpassed by following the Mahayana sutras. Following what is taught in the chapter on power, one should understand supernormal knowledge and so on. Having inconceivable entry, abiding, and rising, one should understand abiding as unsurpassed. Alternatively, it can be done by distinguishing between objects and aspects; one should combine them as appropriate. The abiding of the noble ones is the antidote to the suffering of conditioning. The abiding of the gods is the antidote to the suffering of all afflictions of objects. The abiding of Brahma is the antidote to the suffering of all afflictions of sentient beings. Each of these is divided into four aspects, so the abiding becomes twelve aspects. Among these, in order to establish the abiding of the Tathagata, it is said, beginning with "From those three abidings also," etc. The Tathagata abides by the abiding of emptiness; he abides much by the abiding of emptiness, with these words. The Tathagata is of the nature of being free from elaboration, and because he is inclined towards Nirvana, he abides in the cessation of perception and feeling; and because he is the basis of all qualities, and because he is a clear and workable samadhi, he abides immovably; having seen the world with the Buddha's eye, and being endowed with great compassion, he abides much in great compassion; with the word "in between," beginning with constantly entering, etc., with perfect faith, generosity, discipline, and wisdom. One should know its synonyms by the great being himself, such as the supreme being, the chief being, and so on. Because he has great compassion, there is subsequent love and so on. Because he has great discipline, one should know it as unsurpassed discipline and so on. The synonyms of supreme wisdom are great wisdom and so on. Supreme power should be known as great fame and so on. Supreme abandonment is liberation.

The mind of Lava and so on. The supreme abode is encompassed by being in bliss, being in contact, and so forth. Likewise, it should be understood that this is showing the names of all the qualities of the Tathagatas. In short, it should be understood that great Bodhi is spoken of in two ways: namely, the nature itself and the distinctions. Among these, the aspect of the nature itself is shown in three ways. The aspect of the distinctions is shown in four ways. The supreme nature, that is, possessing the seven supreme aspects. Furthermore, the aspect of possessing those seven aspects is the nature itself that has already been shown and spoken of. Now, desiring to show the aspect of manifesting, praising, and recollecting the qualities, it is said: "With ten aspects, those Tathagatas," and so forth. In such a way, the Shravakas and others accomplish those great Bodhis in their minds, or they also recollect them through the means of increasing merit. "With ten aspects" means that the qualities are shown by the distinctions of the ten aspects, and will be completely encompassed by the ten aspects themselves. In short, praising and recollecting the qualities of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, will be encompassed by three states: namely, the state of the cause, the state of the result, and the state of the activity of benefiting sentient beings. As it is said: "Having accumulated a collection that is extremely difficult, having obtained the unsurpassed Buddha Dharma, the activity of benefiting beings, the Buddhas act with mindfulness." This is what is shown. Here, taking the manifestation of complete enlightenment as the premise, the occasion of the state of the result itself is shown. "Bhagavat" is the showing of the name, not the showing of the qualities. "Thus" means without reversal. "Gone" means speaking; speaking without reversal is "gone"; the letters are done that way. Therefore, it is said: "Because of speaking without reversal, it is called Tathagata," which means the meaning of speaking without reversal. Their not speaking otherwise will be clearly shown as true, because they are reliable persons. It is also said: "Your speech is more clearly distinguished than direct perception."

It has become. This is shown. In order to extremely show the destruction in two ways, and in order to extremely show its cause, it is said, obtaining all the meanings that should be obtained, this is called. In short, all the meanings that should be obtained are of two kinds: one is to reach the ultimate by abandoning all faults, and the other is to reach the ultimate by obtaining all merits. Among them, reaching the ultimate by abandoning all faults becomes the supreme field of merit, because it can quickly and certainly produce the desired fruit without deceiving. Therefore, in order to be worthy of offering, it is called Arhat. Obtaining the ultimate by obtaining all merits is to show that all sentient beings are worthy of offering. In order to show the meaning of "truthful," for "as it is," showing its meaning is "ultimate truth." By assuming the absence of self in persons and the absence of self in phenomena, not acknowledging the existence and non-existence of things, realizing all phenomena in the Middle Way, that is, through truly and completely understanding, it is called the Perfectly Enlightened Buddha. If, in the aspect of the absence of self in persons, how is it understood as not acknowledging existence? Venerable Ananda, if you acknowledge existence, you will increase the view of permanence. If you say "exists," you will increase the view of permanence. Venerable Ananda, if you acknowledge non-existence, you will increase the view of annihilation. If you say "does not exist," you will become a view of annihilation. Similarly, not acknowledging the two extremes, realizing the absence of self in persons in the Middle Way, having the characteristic of non-duality previously shown, being separated from the two extremes, it should be understood that you will realize the true absence of self in phenomena. Because they become the antidote to ignorance, such as the edge of giving, the three knowledges are called the three superknowledges. The superknowledge of directly experiencing the remembrance of past lives, the superknowledge of directly experiencing the exhaustion of defilements, and the superknowledge of directly experiencing the knowledge of death and birth, these three knowledges, and as the sutra says
