And dwelling in contentment, it is said to show the benefit, such as sleeping peacefully. Discipline is what makes body and mind free from suffering, so one can live comfortably day and night. To sleep peacefully means that there is no suffering at night. To wake up peacefully means the daytime. Therefore, it is taught in the verses: It is good to take the precepts well. The body is also without suffering, And at night one sleeps peacefully. And when awakened, one will be happy. This is to show that discipline is the cause of the lineage of samadhi. Similarly, having discipline will not lead to regret, and gradually one will attain samadhi. From that, the happiness born of solitude will arise, and thus it will benefit oneself. To show the benefit to others, it is said to all sentient beings, etc.: For those who have discipline, others will not doubt that this person will use hands, sticks, clods, etc., or at the time of preparation, the main part, or the end, will harm and cause suffering with body and speech, so it is also giving fearlessness. Therefore, it is said that there are five great gifts. To also have faith in discipline refers to the future, just like the cause of the great powerful one, one will not engage in things that contradict taming. To be intolerant means that based on harming, the continuum of anger will arise towards that. Patience is what pacifies resentment, so others do not harm, nor do they inflict suffering such as bondage, so it is precisely protecting oneself completely. Like the words: The armor of the nature of patience of holy beings, The arrows of words of evil people are all turned back. From these faults and the suffering of undesirable results, one is also completely protected. In order to show the result of the common cause of benefiting oneself and others in this way,

And also called "also" and so on. Among them, the reason for not increasing resentment is that there will be no hostile side in the future, or it will become humble. The reason for not increasing division is that it will not be divided from friends and family. Therefore, in order not to worry that others will do unwanted things, suffering and discomfort will not increase either. Even in this life, because resentment is completely pacified, the actions of body and speech are without fault, and all actions are satisfactory, so there will be no regrets. The term "relying on" means that at the time of enlightenment, one will also proceed together with diligence, because even at the time of obtaining enlightenment, it is begun with diligence, so it is diligence that makes it obtain enlightenment. Starting diligence is to wholeheartedly do good. Because of constantly practicing with reverence, there is no opportunity to practice all defilements. Therefore, it is said, in dwelling in happiness and so on. In this way, completely abandoning dwelling in what should not be dwelt in is benefiting oneself. This is to show that through the gate of diligence, one benefits oneself with the joy of attaining higher realms. Called "previously surpassing worry" and so on. Because of constantly being in accordance with virtue, there is no opportunity to harm others at all. In this way, not harming others itself shows benefiting others, because both ways are benefiting oneself and others, that is, not harming others, and obviously tending to benefit others. Those who now enter this state will also cause others to generate desire by starting diligence. In this way, it is also benefiting others. Previously being accustomed to virtue is having great power. Being very enthusiastic about everything that is started is being very happy with human ability. The afflictions that are unfavorable to meditation are because the reliance and the long-standing ground have not been obtained, and because it becomes the cause of completely falling away from the realm that has been obtained, therefore, speaking of the afflictions that are unfavorable to meditation, the conceptualization of language.

Etc. The conceptualization of words is: thought and observation, which are the afflictions of the first dhyana. Joy is of the second. Bliss is of the third. The perception of form is of the fourth. By saying "etc.," one should also understand the perception of obstruction, etc. Also being the basis, called the union of tranquility and insight, because it is the path to enlightenment. Abandoning the faults of afflictions is peaceful. Abandoning all the practices of afflictions is most peaceful. Obtaining the antidote side of them is detachment from desire. Thus, by abandoning and obtaining the non-contradictory side and the antidote side, there is no harm to body and speech, and the mind is not disturbed. In order to show that by practicing meditation, one will obtain the wisdom of power, it is said, "Wisdom is completely pure." It is also said that even without the practice of meditation, which is practiced through close and very close union, one will attain supernormal knowledge. In order to show this, it is said, "Supernormal knowledge is manifestly accomplished." As it is said, it is shown by the very fact of being accustomed to being free from desire, meaning that it will be attained by the very fact of being free from desire. In order to show that after dying from here, one will be born in the realm of form and the formless realm, it is said, "Pure deity." There are three kinds of deities: deities of name, deities obtained by birth, and pure deities. Among them, pure deities are those who practice in the realm of form and the formless realm, and arhats, because they have abandoned the afflictions of dependence and have abandoned all afflictions, so it is in order. The retinue of Bodhisattvas and all paths are held by wisdom. Therefore, it is said, "Giving," etc. When wisdom is perfected, the four will also be perfected. Being free from the suffering of universal delusion, and having joy and great joy that are endowed with the ability to individually realize things as they are known will become vast and increase.
