Bya. The name is this. The caste is this. The clan is this. The birth is like this. The food is eaten like this. Happiness and suffering are experienced like this. How long is the lifespan? How long does the duration last? I died from there and was reborn in a certain place. Having died from there and transferred here, as a man, including the place. Including form. Including signs, one remembers the various forms of previous existences. Because it is completely summarized in eight forms, it is said: All beings' bodies, etc., are also considered. Those forms are, in order to show the power of remembering previous existences, they will be distinguished and shown. He remembers other kinds of sentient beings as well. He remembers the means of those who are completely encompassed by the past, oneself, friends, and those with shared fate. For those, he also remembers others. Remembering others refers to the future, those who are hidden and, those who are manifest, all are made manifest by you. With these words. In order to show that it has become the field of practice of that wisdom, it is said: How is my life, etc. How one remembers one's own life, and all the places of past actions of this present life, one remembers them exactly as they are. Similarly, one also remembers other past lives. That which an ordinary person cannot remember of this visible Dharma is a small part. Again, there are two types, encompassed by an unclear state, belonging to the vague, etc., and encompassed by a clear existence. Few or many, is what one says oneself, meaning: What is forgotten from remembering previous actions. In past lives, what was done by the body, what was spoken by the speech, and what was remembered, thought, examined, or subsequently analyzed by the mind, such actions of body, speech, and mind will be shown.

Alas! Forgetfulness is caused by two reasons: namely, not being the object of remembrance. Uninterrupted means that birth and moment are combined without interruption, entering in order. Also, the sound of the word "also" refers to those with intervals in between. What can be counted refers to the few, what can be counted refers to the ability to count itself. What is many is immeasurable and limitless. Unobstructed in three ways, namely, by the name "wisdom is unobstructed to it." For self and others, whether without interval or with interval, is acceptable, as you wish. One thinks for oneself and also makes others remember, whether few or many, as long as one wants to remember, as you wish. Also, what you wish is that whether it is a subtle part or many, one can remember without forgetting. What you wish is that whether it is uninterrupted or with interval, whether it can be counted or immeasurable and countless, one also contemplates accordingly. Or, it should be combined according to the way one wants, in order to remember the uninterrupted and the interrupted. The meaning of the term "Jataka" is to show the Jatakas of the Buddha's own previous lives. Those speakers speak for the benefit of others, and from the speaking, it will also become the basis of inconceivable and vast merits. Therefore, in the continuation of the Jataka tales, verses such as "Becoming the basis of glorious and excellent qualities, hence auspicious" are shown. In order to show the conduct of the Bodhisattva itself, the so-called "extremely rare" is because others cannot do it, and it is extremely joyful. As it is said, "It is not easy to rejoice in the actions of a Bodhisattva, let alone practice it oneself?" The so-called "generating faith" refers to the fact that in order to show that the Blessed One also benefited in past lives with the actions of body, speech, and mind in this way, through hearing the uncommon path of benefiting haters, middling ones, and excellent ones, generating faith is joyful.

It is called a mind with faith. Before that, respect will arise for those with virtues. It is said that "for the sake of generating aversion" means that when Bodhisattvas obtain a birth that gathers evil destinies, they will now generate aversion like this. If even great beings like that have a time to obtain such a birth, then there is no need to mention others. After thinking like this, samsara is suffering, it is unreliable, and aversion will arise. Showing correctly by combining giving and other perfections in various ways is called "for the sake of generating joy," which means that from the stories of various past actions, from the perspective of the maturation of actions and results, hearing about decline and prosperity, as well as one's own and others' decline and prosperity, aversion will also arise. The decline of others becomes a place for generating regret, as well as one's own decline. Because this knowledge also belongs to intelligence, this intelligence is the antidote to previous ignorance, and previous ignorance arises from the view of permanence. Therefore, in order to show that abandoning views itself is the result, it is said, "Those who view permanence," and so on. In order to show those who view permanence, it is said, "Contemplating the previous extreme," and so on. There are also two types, namely, those who consider everything to be permanent, and those who consider some things to be permanent. The wisdom of the divine ear, in general, should be understood as being able to be established as two types. Whatever is said relying on the basis, "The Bodhisattva's divine ear," means that the ear faculty that is completely distinguished by clairvoyance is the basis, that is its meaning. The object should be understood as being able to be established as eight types. The basis of going, whether it is the sound of gods and humans, below and above. From the perspective of well-spoken and not well-spoken, they are the noble ones and the non-noble ones. The difference in types is large sounds and small sounds. Meaningful and meaningless.
