It is called "that." It is well established by the reasoning of the characteristics of subsequent inference, and it is distinctly established by those with the characteristics of the scriptures. Alternatively, it is the same in meaning. The mention of "all" is to show that the realizations of the three types of Hearers and the three types of Solitary Buddhas are equally well demonstrated through the inferior, the middling, and the particularly superior. Ignorance is the precursor of all afflictions. If the antidote to ignorance arises, it will be thoroughly abandoned. Therefore, it is said to show that the object of the activity of reason is the object of the wisdom that completely purifies the obscurations of afflictions. Reason should also be distinctly established as threefold: by acting distinctly on objects, by directly realizing objects, and by distinctly establishing objects. The main one is transcendent wisdom, which is called reason because it thoroughly distinguishes objects as they are. As stated in other sutras, thorough knowledge and thorough knowledge are called reason, which is what is shown. What is thoroughly known? Form, the arising of form, the cessation of form, and the path leading to the cessation of form. This shows that it focuses on the Four Noble Truths. To explain these themselves, it is said, "without outflows," and so on. Because it has become its retinue, and because it possesses distinct analysis of it, the wisdom arising from hearing and so on is also called reason. Therefore, it is said, "that which obtains freedom from outflows," and so on. The pure mundane [dharmas] obtained after that are also called reason because they arise from its cause. Because it is said, "obtained after freedom from outflows," and from the perspective of obtaining it and obtaining after it, it is said to be mundane. By what is it the object of activity and the state of being an object? Therefore, it is the meaning of knowable and object. By what meaning is the object of the wisdom that completely purifies the obscurations of the three types of knowables also called reason? Therefore, to show its cause, it is said, "by focusing on it," and so on.

Moreover, the phrase "wisdom becomes completely purified from the obscurations of afflictions" indicates the liberation of intrinsic liberation. The phrase "afterwards, it will truly abide in the nature of non-obscuration" indicates the liberation from decline. Alternatively, the absence of outflows and the attainment thereof is the complete purification of the obscurations of afflictions. What is attained after that is truly abiding in the nature of non-obscuration. Now, in order to show that very thing, it says, "The four noble truths," etc. Knowing the four truths is the antidote to samsara, therefore, by focusing on that thing, afflictions will be abandoned; if one sees correctly, one will be liberated. This is expressed by these words. As it is said in other sutras, "Because you have not seen, have not understood, and have not separately understood these four noble truths, you have long wandered and run in samsara." Thoroughly distinguishing is attaining the absence of outflows, which is in the stage of distinguishing the truths. Manifestly realizing is at the time of manifestly realizing the wisdom without outflows. The wisdom of manifest realization is what is attained after that, which is the time of establishing the truths. Moreover, in what ways and how will that wisdom arise in those things? What is the order? In order to show its manner and order, it is said, "The realization of the truth is also," etc. For what exists, wisdom will arise by focusing on the aspect of existence itself. For what does not exist, wisdom will arise by focusing on the aspect of non-existence. Therefore, it is said, "Focusing on merely the aggregates," etc. This will show that the aspect of thoroughly realizing the selflessness of the person will arise. In order to show the order, it is said, "Cultivating the view that there is no person other than the aggregates of wisdom that arise and perish in dependent origination." This means being accustomed to seeing emptiness and selflessness. The phrase "what obstructs knowledge of the knowable" means what obstructs the application of knowledge to the knowable.

has become an obstacle. The obstacle that is fully related to wisdom exists, which should be understood as non-afflictive ignorance, such as that of the Hearers and so on. Individual ordinary beings have both afflictive and non-afflictive ones. Some also assert that the knowable itself is an obscuration, and therefore it is established as the obscuration of the knowable. They say that even if the knowable itself remains as it is, it surpasses the knowledge other than the Buddha's own knowledge. But this is not true, because non-afflictive ignorance is established as the obscuration of the knowable. Therefore, due to being propelled by the power of the knowable that has become superior, it is called the non-afflictive obscuration of the knowable. Therefore, in all cases, the non-afflictive is the obscuration of the knowable, because it has become an obstacle to the arising of knowledge. The knowable cannot be established as a party that is incompatible with knowledge. Therefore, it is said, to be liberated from the obscuration of the knowable. Moreover, that itself is suchness, because the nature of the knowable is the perfectly established nature. Therefore, it will be revealed by knowledge, because knowledge will completely cut off the knowable. Bodhisattvas and so forth, Bodhisattvas are distinguished by the path of learning to enter into the selflessness of phenomena. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are the wisdom that has entered into the selflessness of phenomena, which is the perfection and complete purification of practice that has reached its ultimate limit. In order to show the form of that wisdom,
