This is how it is done. The unerring knowledge of the mundane and the non-inverted knowledge of these schools are spoken of in terms of conventional knowledge and ultimate knowledge. The unerring knowledge encompassed by conventional knowledge is also of two kinds: those who follow terminology, who apply terminology, the ordinary people of the world, and those who follow close examination by reason, who possess proof by reason, are the second, particularly superior, world. Among them, the unerring wisdom of reality of these schools is also of two kinds: the nature of intelligence that has become the antidote to afflictive ignorance, and the unobstructed wisdom that has become the antidote to non-afflictive ignorance, which is spoken of in terms of ultimate truth. Therefore, it is said, "That very meaning of reality, if well distinguished, is of four kinds," because what is famous to the worldly is worldly fame, which reaches the ultimate without dispute of worldly dharma, because of this, worldly people between children and the wise, for whom wisdom arises equally, and who are seen as not different due to the power of fame. Therefore, it is said to be worldly fame. Reason is the most famous of the three kinds of valid cognition. Fame is individual knowledge and comprehension, which is famous by reason. Affliction itself is an obscuration, so it is the obscuration of affliction, because it obstructs the arising of wisdom of its own antidote side. The wisdom liberated from that is the knowledge of the complete purification of the obscuration of affliction, separation from ignorance is the liberation of wisdom, as explained by these words. Whatever is liberated is completely purified. Its object is the field of activity, the third meaning of reality. Knowable itself is an obscuration, so it is the obscuration of the knowable, the knowable itself is the gathering with it, whatever surpasses the knowledge other than the wisdom of the Buddha and enters. The completely purified knowledge from this is the knowledge of the complete purification of the obscuration of the knowable, without attachment and without obstruction to all knowables.

That which becomes its field of use is the fourth suchness. Thus, here, these Dharma practitioners, like worldly people, should be recognized as two kinds of wisdom, distinguished by the ordinary and the particularly sublime. Having thus briefly established it in general, in order to distinguish and explain the meaning of the four suchnesses, it is said: Among "expression" and so on, "all" refers to those skilled in terminology, from children to the wise. "In what thing" refers, in brief, to the four kinds of things that will be explained, namely: the thing that arises, the thing that is transformed from arising, the thing that is the aggregation of those, and the thing that is neither of the two. To show the cause of seeing the same, it is said: "By going along with expression and convention," which means that by going along with familiarity with expression and convention, the mind that enters will arise. Because all worldly people have no dispute about what thing, thereby becoming a non-disputing, same view, therefore the same mind and knowledge will arise, which is what is shown as suchness. Among these, expression is the definite application to a name, by which things are indicated in such and such a way. Convention is terminology, and after investigation, how recognition arises, thus making terminology, this is the statement of the sutra. Familiarity refers to those very things passing from one life to another, becoming accustomed to countless times, and being related to sound with the nature of what can be said and what is to be said, that is, the name of this thing is this. Entering into accordance means following and entering through the door of familiarity with expression and convention, and when the mind enters and arises, the view becomes the same, meaning that the inclination towards things becomes the same. One should examine the collection of things in three ways, namely: the thing that arises, the thing that is transformed from arising, and the thing that is both. One should examine according to the ten kinds of requisites of the body and the things that are completely held. As adornment and vessel
