To become a partisan of wrong views, thinking there is no result, is to not see the result. Another case is not wanting to experience the fruit of merit arising from generosity after many lifetimes, which is also a wrong view. If one says, 'If one cannot experience the result immediately after dying from this life, what is the use of a result that is separated by many lifetimes?' This is not seeing the future and not seeing the result. Giving with such a view has no result whatsoever on one's own continuum. Such giving, because it is giving to the recipient and things that are in accordance, is solely for the sake of others. 'Moral discipline is corrupted' means to turn away from moral discipline, which means that moral discipline has become bad. 'There is no practice' means being unable to make diligent effort, which means not becoming a vessel for practice. Furthermore, in order to turn them away from bad conduct, they also teach the Dharma to others. By teaching the Dharma to others, they lead them out of the place of bad conduct and place them in the place of good conduct, which is benefiting others. When teaching the present Dharma, there is neither pure moral discipline nor a cause for increasing wisdom in the future, because one has damaged one's own continuum. 'Completely transcending the lower ground' refers to being free from desire for the desire realm, abiding in the state of an Arhat or Non-Returner, experiencing the dominion of karma and result from the present Dharma, and thus applying generosity and other actions to benefiting others, because it completely transcends the Vipaka ground and is for the sake of gathering others. By gaining mastery over meditative concentration, one becomes skilled in transforming meditative concentration, which is achieved through gaining mastery over karma, afflictions, and rebirth. Having cultivated meditative concentration for the benefit of others, and entering into those meditative concentrations, and transforming them through rebirth, even without falling from meditative concentration, one does not take rebirth because of it, but rather mainly to see the desire to benefit others more.

They will be born wherever they please. Because that meditation has no fruit of maturation in one's own continuum, and because there is no comfortable abiding in the present dharma, and because it is able to closely benefit others, it is solely for the benefit of others. Bodhisattvas who have gained great power through the practice of the ten powers, having been in control since the eighth ground, show the deeds from residing in Tushita up to the great parinirvana for the benefit of sentient beings in the buddha-empty world realms. Even so, it is not for their own benefit, but solely for the benefit of others. Those who have accomplished their own benefit means that the Tathagatas, having completely accomplished their own deeds, rely on the unshared dharmas of the Buddha, such as the powers, and engage in various activities for the benefit of sentient beings, such as the powers and fearlessness. Their activities are solely for the benefit of others, as they themselves have no need for anything. The two mentioned earlier refer to the degeneration of view through the act of giving for the sake of others, and the degeneration of ethics through the act of teaching. These should be fully understood and completely abandoned. A Bodhisattva does not give charity when the view is degenerated, nor does he establish others in ethics when ethics are degenerated, because he has truly transcended the dharma of a Bodhisattva. What is not that refers to transforming meditative concentration, etc. Because after transforming meditative concentration, it is for the sake of others, therefore it is solely for the sake of action, as it is the cause for the complete maturation of the Buddha's dharma in one's own continuum, and the cause for the complete maturation of sentient beings. One should train in the activities for the benefit of the emanated sentient beings. In particular, one should train in the activities of maturing and liberating sentient beings. What is the opposite of that refers to giving charity with a perfect view, and teaching the Dharma with perfect ethics. The five causes that benefit oneself and others are summarized into three.
