It should be separately examined and definitely correctly examined, Then completely abandoned and completely eliminated. A Bodhisattva should abandon the benefit of only others, because the benefit of both is the most important. Whatever is solely for one's own benefit, that is far beyond the realm of a Bodhisattva's activity and is not suitable, it should be completely known and then abandoned. A Bodhisattva should benefit sentient beings, not benefit himself, like a medicine with great power. Therefore, whatever is the work of others, that is indeed my own work, and whatever is the benefit of others, that is indeed my own benefit. Therefore: Those who are the embodiment of compassion, for the benefit of beings, Take birth in samsara, but are not attached to samsara. Like the emergence of medicines with the power to cure all diseases, Benefiting beings. This is the praise. Therefore, one's own benefit alone will truly transcend the benefit of a Bodhisattva. Therefore, that Bodhisattva should be abandoned and not learned from. What is called unsuitable is because there is no quality of attaining enlightenment, because it contradicts the attainment of enlightenment. Whatever other benefit cannot be established as a collection of enlightenment should also be abandoned, because it is not necessary for that. Establishing only one's own benefit is seeking enjoyment and fully enjoying it, seeking Dharma and definitely holding it, as well as the practice of morality, diligence, meditation, and wisdom, as well as offering to the completely pacified guru, as well as engaging in wrong livelihood, as well as enjoying wealth in the monastic aspect, and being controlled by others in the household aspect, should be known. Because of attachment to enjoyment and attachment to the aggregates, seeking enjoyment in order to satisfy one's own body, that seeking enjoyment is also only one's own benefit, only gathered by the cause that follows happiness, is this life, and is not permanent. Similarly, it is the same when enjoying during the complete search. Bodhisattvas' seeking of enjoyment is

It is like a wish-fulfilling jewel, because it is mainly for the needs of others. The enjoyer is like a mother feeding her child milk. Being overly attached to the Dharma in that way is for one's own benefit. The abundant learning and perfect wisdom that one possesses, as well as the contents belonging to treatises, thinking that they should not be transferred from oneself to others, therefore one does not teach or explain. Because his thought is also to seek and accept the Dharma, thinking that it is neither in this life nor the next, nor is it eternal, this is what is called only for one's own benefit. The so-called desire for the heavenly realm refers to the precepts upheld by evil aspirations, as well as the diligence contained in the practice of perfecting those precepts, as well as the samadhi that desires to be born in the form and formless realms, and the wisdom that correctly receives and abides in its meaning. That is also not entered into for the sake of subduing other sentient beings, therefore it is said to be only for one's own benefit. It is in accordance with benefit, is upheld by causes, is not another world, and is not eternal. Any precepts that are correctly received are established as a way of giving fearlessness, and even if one has good intentions towards sentient beings, since one does not subdue others through it, it is only for one's own benefit. The so-called worldly affairs refer to gain. The merit of desire is enjoyment. The taste of tasting is small, as it is said in the Sutra Pitaka: Whatever the ordinary person is attached to, worldly affairs are terrible. That is what is said. Desiring its fruit means desiring to obtain great enjoyment in the next life. The so-called cause for obtaining worldly affairs refers to preventing the offering to the guru who has passed into nirvana out of gratitude. It is not because of gratitude that one makes offerings to the stupa of the Tathagata, nor is it for the sake of offering to the guru who has passed into nirvana, but it is said to be merely for the cause of worldly affairs. Even so, being in accordance with happiness, upheld by the cause of happiness, is not another world, and is not eternal, this is for one's own benefit. Because there is no subduing of others in these aspects, it is unique.
