Among those ten (questions), regarding the first four dharmas, namely the kinds of how to distinguish, and the generation of bodhicitta, and those (questions) corresponding to the bodhisattva conduct, after explaining two, (someone) asked: What is the bodhisattva conduct of generating bodhicitta? The bodhisattva conduct is the bodhisattva's training. In order to fully show this, that it should be understood in three ways, therefore (the text) starts from "What to learn" etc. These (questions) are to show the place of learning, the basis of learning, and the words of learning. And "How to learn" fully clarifies the nature of learning. "What to learn" indicates the support of learning with the word "learning." In order to comprehensively show all the places of bodhisattva training, therefore it says "Learn in seven places," among which, position, basis, and word are synonyms. How to learn? The actions of body, speech, and mind that are completely grasped by faultless methods will be explained. What to learn? The bodhisattva with shame will learn, so it will be explained, so it will be explained, so it will be explained. In order to show that those places can also be called "meaning," therefore, from the perspective of meaning, it is clearly shown, that is, the meaning of "should be considered," that is, how to properly obtain, having manifestly obtained, and what should be understood having manifestly understood, closely holding and obtaining, and the meaning of having understood. The order of establishing the seven kinds of meanings is that the bodhisattva first focuses on enlightenment itself, in order to learn for his own benefit, and focusing on sentient beings, in order to learn for the benefit of others, therefore, first shows the place of his own and others' benefit. For the benefit of oneself and others, one should also learn without any defilements, but not with defilements, because acting with great defilements, one cannot benefit oneself either, this is a word of praise. In order to show that one can learn the meaning of suchness without defilements, therefore after that

It only indicates that place. Similarly, when practicing for one's own benefit and the benefit of others, one should practice with a method free from afflictions. However, being free from afflictions but lacking ability is not practice, therefore it indicates the place of ability. Similarly, it indicates that one should practice with a method that is not tiring. Thus, for the three vehicles that are free from afflictions and possess ability, one should practice appropriately to ripen sentient beings. Ripening one's own Buddha-dharma, and when both of those are ripened, one practices for the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, therefore after that it indicates the place of perfect enlightenment. These completely and clearly indicate the completion of the initial, intermediate, and final practices of the Bodhisattvas. Therefore, in order to indicate that it is divided into ten types by the difference of one's own benefit and the benefit of others, it is said, "In short, it should be known as ten types," meaning that it is divided into ten types. The arrangement of the ten meanings is: belonging to the continuum are two, belonging to the difference of objects are two, belonging to the difference of states are two, belonging to the difference of births are two, belonging to the difference of death and rebirth are two. Among them, the so-called "merely" means unmixed, meaning not mixed with others. Not related to the benefit of others, nor related to one's own benefit, is called "merely." Related to others means extremely related to others, that is, mixed. That also has two types, namely, one's own benefit related to the benefit of others, and the benefit of others related to one's own benefit. Afterwards, the ripening of happiness of those benefits of oneself and others is itself the cause of benefit. In order to accord with the nature of the seen dharma, it is happiness. At the time of creation, it is held by the cause. At the time of completion, it is held by the result. What is obtained in this life is the one of this life. What is obtained in other lives is the one of other lifetimes. The meaning that does not decline is constant. What will decline is non-constant. Therefore, it should be completely understood and then abandoned.
