Because the past has been shown, for "cessation of what has been done and accumulated," etc., mentioning "accumulated" is to exclude actions that do not ripen. Moreover, it should be understood that those are actions that are without outflows and undeclared, because there is the statement, "The cause of ripening is non-virtue, and only virtues with outflows." To show that whatever is not past and present is the nature of the future, hence "whatever is not done," etc. "Merely engaging in action and excluding" means manifestly inclining towards the action of "I shall do." Being in the state of "should do like this" is to show what is happening now, hence "not done," etc. Those also each have three aspects due to the distinctions of bodily actions, etc. "The four correct ways of taking up the Dharma as previously shown" means how, reasonably, in this world also, it is for the sake of happiness, and in the enjoyment of worldly people also, it is for the sake of happiness, and likewise, for manifestly accomplishing the meaning of suffering, it is called correctly taking up the Dharma. Therefore, it is said, "Those also for this life and the next," etc. In whatever world, or continent, or land, or island, or place, or city, or water, or plain, wherever one works, that is their place. What thing of the place one relies on to engage in work, such as "being counted as sentient beings," etc., that is their thing. What is done by roots of virtue or non-virtue is the cause, namely, by the words "cause of the three actions taken up correctly." Therefore, that is their cause. "Pleasant and unpleasant" means that what is unwanted with faults and what is wanted with benefits occur in the case of virtue and non-virtue. Such is the ripening, the fruit of their ripening. All times are the distinctions of past, etc. All aspects are the distinctions of places, etc. All states are the distinctions of correctly taking up the Dharma. All places are the permanent ones. All places are completely things.

These are the divisions, etc. All the bases are the causes shown, etc. All faults and benefits are the results of suffering and unpleasantness. Thus, knowing the practice of one's own actions through seven aspects is to show. Furthermore, the Blessed One knows exactly as it is, the defilement, purification, and establishment of those who enter into meditative absorption, liberation, and samadhi. The rest is the same as before. This is the third power of the Tathagata, and its meaning will be explained. The term "meditative absorption" indicates the four absorptions, beginning with the first. The term "liberation" indicates the eight liberations, such as seeing forms by those with form. It is shown that samadhi is the distinction of being able to accomplish the work of a yogi through these meditative absorptions and samadhi themselves. Among meditative absorption and liberation, etc., it is shown that entering into meditative absorption is to manifest entry in order to truly accomplish samadhi. The sutra that shows it is as the Blessed One said, etc. Entering into such samadhi is to show that entering into meditative absorption itself is abiding in samadhi. In order to accomplish it greatly, it is like great light, etc. Why abide? Because light brings excellence. Thus it is shown that by the power of meditative absorption, one can accomplish things greatly without effort, and similarly, one can accomplish supramundane things. Called the work of meditators. Why are only these mentioned, and not subjugation and exhaustion, etc.? Therefore, it is said, there is nothing higher than this, etc. With the mind that has obtained mastery over meditative absorption and liberation, one becomes the master of the mind, and having obtained mastery, one can accomplish all things merely by generating the mind. These two are the activities of a yogi, namely, the mind.

And the power of self, and the accomplishment of the desired meaning. Therefore, they are the collection of those themselves. Here, the four kinds of wisdom will be shown as power. In order to distinguish from that, the so-called "there are two kinds of pervasive defilements" means that the two kinds of defilements are dependent origination and self-origination. In order to show the meaning that is not in accordance with the meaning of defilement, that is, pervasive defilement, it is shown by the "pervasive defilement that hinders what should be obtained." The pervasive defilement of dependent origination also has two kinds: pervasive defilement nature and non-pervasive defilement nature. Among them, non-pervasive defilement nature refers to the combination of non-skillful means. Pervasive defilement nature refers to the universal practice of obstacles and so on. Both of these are in the case of not obtaining and losing, and the pervasive defilement nature is established as a completely inconsistent nature. The pervasive defilement nature of self-origination refers to the universal practice of defilements such as craving, which is also in the case of obtaining and losing. Saying its name, such as "those who have obtained them also" and so on. The opposite of these, purification is shown as two kinds. After such direct realization, establish the corresponding name and terminology and establishment, and establish with corresponding words and letters. Thus, the desire to complete the practice and obtain the best, obtain as desired, that is, enter into samadhi on the desired object, and achieve as desired without effort. Obtaining without evil meaning, therefore, can obtain as desired. Obtaining without difficulty, that is, entering into samadhi on the quantity as desired, is called pure freedom. Those who have not obtained them are pervasive defilements. Those who have obtained are purification. Those who have lost are self-originated defilements. The abundant is the purification that is the opposite of this. The most supreme is purification. Furthermore, the Blessed One, the Tathagata, truly knows the superior and non-superior roots of other individuals and other sentient beings, as it is, as it is said, superior and
