Due to the transformation, there is no fear of falling into evil destinies. Except for the bodhisattvas who have entered the bhumis, no one else has the same thought as this (bodhisattva), let alone surpass it? Because all thoughts are impure. Therefore, there will be no fear of timidity in the retinue. As it is taught in the sutra, there is no fear, dread, timidity, and hair-raising. From "fear" to "hair-raising," the meaning of each word will be explained in order: Abandoning the five fears is to be free from the nature of fear. Not being afraid to teach the profound Dharma is to be free from dread. Even if oneself appears, one does not praise oneself, therefore it is called being free from arrogance. For the harm done by others and all evil deeds, it is the nature of being free from hatred. Therefore, it is to be free from hair-raising. Not generating joy for all the hustle and bustle of the world, therefore it is abandoning the liking for gatherings, which is what the sutra says, for the sake of great compassion going forward, the excellent thought will not be lost, and it will not be inferior. This is the meaning to be expressed: For the sake of great compassion going forward, not being defiled by afflictions, therefore it will not be lost. Because of being very tamed, it is not ordinary, because it is not shared with all sentient beings. What is said in the sutra is: Excellent

These aspirations are accomplished by abiding in the Joyful Ground, but not by abiding in the Ground of Faith. To show the reason for this, in "depending on pure intention," because the intention itself is pure, abiding in this will accomplish its aspiration, but impure intention will not, which is the intention of the Ground of Faith. Moreover, the aspiration made by a monk with a pure, extremely pure mind will be accomplished, as stated in the sutra. The first aspiration of offering to the Tathagata is to show that the Tathagata himself is worthy of offering. The supreme source of merit for all sentient beings, the teacher of gods and humans, because he is the lord of the Dharma. The second aspiration is based on upholding the true Dharma. The third aspiration is based on entering Tushita and abiding there in sequence. Practicing the conduct of a Bodhisattva for the sake of the Dharma remaining is the fourth aspiration. The fifth aspiration is based on maturing sentient beings. The sixth aspiration is based on being able to reach all Buddha-fields through magical power. The seventh aspiration is based on purifying one's own Buddha-field. The eighth aspiration is based on not being separated from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The ninth aspiration is based on accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings. The tenth aspiration is based on realizing perfect enlightenment. The meaning of these should be understood by following the sutra. As the sutra says, just as the realm of sentient beings continues from one life to another without interruption, and the worldly Dharma continues without interruption, similarly, in order to obtain these aspirations in all lifetimes until reaching enlightenment, without forgetting, and without separation, therefore, here it is shown to plant aspirations on the aspirations themselves, so it is shown with the words of the sutra. To this, the words of the sutra are manifested in ten places without end, for example, from the end of the realm of sentient beings to the end of the realm of the lineage of wisdom.

And, may these roots of my virtue be without end until the very end. Attainment is not completely lost. Not forgetting is abiding in mindfulness. Not being separated from aspirations in all of everything is not being separated. Belief is planting aspirations in things. The second is planting aspirations in the aspirations themselves, in order to show this. Before, it is aspiring for the meaning of what should be aspired for, having said like this, these are the fundamental aspirations. Other than that, it should be known immeasurably, having shown following the sutras, these great aspirations and so on. Showing the cause of universally practicing the ten dharmas is, in the future, the power of aspiration will arise, and in this life, diligence is initiated, showing the future and so on. The order of arising of these dharmas should be known as in the sutras. Showing the cause of the order is, for this, first of all, the arising of manifest trust in the Buddha's dharmas is faith. Observing the state of suffering of sentient beings is compassion. Closely accomplishing benefit for the suffering is loving-kindness. With the thought of completely saving from suffering, not regarding oneself is complete giving. In order to completely save sentient beings, because of not being weary of completely seeking the Buddha's dharma and not having weariness, obtaining what should be known of all treatises, and what completely purifies is the treatise. Knowing as it is how the world will arise, and how the world will perish, is knowing the world. Having become knowing the world, with knowing time and measure and so on, conduct is perfect, and possessing shame and embarrassment, and generating the power of patience, it is for the sake of making offerings to the Tathagata. What is called rightly taking and abiding is what has not been obtained becoming obtained. What is called doing many times is the means of causing what has been obtained to abide and increase. For all abiding also, it is the quality of the path, becoming the antidote to the opposing side of the ground. Fault is the opposing side of the ground. Completely seeking is
