It should be distinguished. The display of being free from the fault of complete clinging is what is said, "It is completely liberated," and so on. The display of being free from the fault of complete exhaustion is why it is said, "Completely liberated from sufferings," and so on. The precepts taken correctly are completely pure because it is difficult for householders, etc., which is extensively shown. Because one is solely diligent in virtue, it is said, "Manifest knowledge is swift," and so on. Because it is a place to be trusted, the words are dignified. The explanation of the second chapter, which is the section on the place of the yoga of the Dharma corresponding to the basis of the Bodhisattva's ground, is completed. Whether a Bodhisattva is a householder or ordained, if their mind is pure, they will truly practice these four Dharmas, otherwise not. To show this, the mind is shown after the section. It should be known that the purity of mind itself has the characteristic of superior intention. The three kinds of superior intention are distinguished by way of increase, ground, and distinction, namely by way of the nature of the cause, the distinction itself, and the action itself. The nature of the cause is the seven ways of being pleasing to all sentient beings. The distinction is the fifteen intentions, which is what is said, "The fifteen intentions." The action itself is: "The ten actions are shown to be done." Pleasing is doing what is desired in the minds of sentient beings. This also means being free from the faults of the cause and possessing the aspects of qualities. Thus, there are seven kinds of pleasing. Among them, worldly pleasing is completely defiled by the three kinds of afflictions, namely because of fear, looking at the faces of others, or not being from the heart. Among them, what is aroused by fear is unreasonable, because combining unreasonable things, it may also be completely reversed because one does not like existence. Doing things to please others will not become vast either. Not being from the heart will not be equal either. Thus, the pleasing that arises from the first cause also has faults, because it is defiled.

Therefore, it is with faults. Its antidote is without faults, until not weary. Whatever is generated for the sake of others is done through supplication. Its antidote is without supplication, and so forth. Whatever is generated unintentionally is accompanied by defilements. Its antidote is without defilements, and so forth. Through these, the absence of faults is vastness and equality. Furthermore, the four dharmas are entered into by practitioners due to the absence of inherent existence. Here, some, although not wishing to be solely unbeneficial and cause suffering, are pleasing to sentient beings due to other factors. Therefore, that pleasing is unreasonable. It may also become unpleasant. Some are pleased by hatred; that pleasing is through supplication, and is not vast. Its antidote is without supplication and is vast. Some are pleased by desire; its antidote is without defilements and is equality. Being pleased by ignorance is neither vast nor equal. Their antidote is vastness and equality. Furthermore, for the pleasing of fear, the antidote is without fear. For the pleasing with faults, the antidote is reasonable and without weariness. For the pleasing of desire, the antidote is without supplication and without defilements. For the pleasing of delusion, the antidote is the remaining ones. Because it is consistent, it is pleasing. Because it is pleasing, it is beneficial, that is, desire. It is called having happiness, that is, in accordance with the mind. Explaining the irrational arising, that is, the correct application to wrong conduct is like applying to something inappropriate.

It is called transformation. Because there is no expectation of fruition. In order to show that there is no impurity, it is pleasing without cause. The very fact of being vast is the very fact of being great, which is the very fact of not being overcome by opposing forces. Therefore, it is said, even if encountering all aspects, one does not abandon them, and so on. Even if making one displeasing, it is because one does not rely on one's own happiness. Therefore, it is said, one does not wish to do evil to others in any way. How one treats one, one treats all the same, therefore one is equal to all. Therefore, it is not to one side. Because one possesses the intention of benefiting and bringing happiness to sentient beings, one is called having virtuous intention. Because one benefits through action, one is called having supreme virtuous intention. Adoration is special adoration. Similarly, the joy of mind arises from definite grasping, which is not abandoning that object. What arises from the power of others is preceded by faith. What arises from one's own power is preceded by proper consideration, which is distinguished by the sharpness and dullness of the faculties. What is preceded by faith is called individual realization. The other is called determination. The intention that is more superior is the superior intention, which is the intention of special adoration. It should be known that superiority itself will also be explained. Thus, even if the nature of intention is not different, it is shown as fifteen kinds by the difference of objects and the difference of states. It is said, if these are briefly summarized, there are fifteen kinds, and so on. Among them, there are ten objects of special adoration. The object of refuge is because it is said to be the supreme intention, and so on. The intention of learning is because it is said to be the intention of discipline, and so on. The object of meditating on virtuous Dharma while abiding in vows is because it is said to be the intention of the pāramitās, and so on. The object without all afflictions is because it is said to be the intention of the meaning of that alone, and so on. The object of vastness is because it is said to be the intention of power, and so on.
