Possessing, and because of being able to explain the meaning of the profound meaning, possessing wisdom. Because of obtaining the distinction of the light of wisdom, it is the supreme clarity. Because of being born into the lineage of the Thus-Gone One, it is the son of the Victorious One. Because of accomplishing the unbroken lineage of the Buddha, it is called the basis of the Victorious One. Because it becomes the power of a place similar to leaves, etc., and because it is the cause of the birth of the Buddha's teachings such as fearlessness, it is called the sprout of the Victorious One. Because of overcoming the afflictions of one's own and others' minds, it is called the Victorious One. Because it is the only hero, it possesses ability. Because it completely accomplishes the ultimate meaning, it is called the supreme noble one. Because it leads the great multitude of sentient beings wandering in the wilderness of samsara to the city of nirvana, it is called the leader. Because the fragrance of qualities pervades all directions, it is called great fame. Because it possesses great compassion, it is compassionate. Because it possesses great merit such as generosity, it is called great merit. Because it possesses the lord of freedom, etc., it is called freedom. Because the actions of the body, etc., are without fault, it is called possessing the Dharma. The difference of each name is to show the immeasurable, so it is also called the ten directions boundless and infinite. Each of their own names refers to the ending words of each Bodhisattva's name. Again, in short, it shows two kinds of Bodhisattvas. Similar to a self-proclaimed monk, although not a Bodhisattva in the true sense, merely claiming to be a Bodhisattva, but not studying the precepts, those are called people who pretend to be Bodhisattvas. The opposite of this is the true Bodhisattva, just like the true monk. The explanation of the eighteenth chapter, the chapter on the qualities of the Bodhisattva Ground Yoga Place, is completed. As shown above, the Bodhisattvas who possess the qualities of merit, even if they hide and do not proclaim the virtues belonging to the six perfections.

In order to show that all the world will know through the five signs, the signs are shown after the qualities are shown. Those should also be explained separately in five ways each, so the brief explanation of those is from "nature" etc. "True" means what the meaning of Bodhisattva is like. Sign means the sign of Bodhisattva, which is what makes one understand Bodhisattva itself. Therefore it is said, "If one has those" etc., which is the word that can determine Bodhisattva. From the perspective of perfect aspiration and perfect action, five signs should be established, according to the order of one and four. Among them, perfect aspiration means that now for the suffering of sentient beings and the cause of suffering, in order, the mind of happiness and the mind of benefit arise. Perfect action is from the perspective of making sentient beings completely mature, there are two kinds, beneficial action refers to what is said "sweet speech"; happy action refers to what is said "stretching out the hand". From the perspective of making the Buddha's Dharma completely mature, there are also two kinds, having diligent practice in the aspect of virtue, not being shaken by the unfavorable aspect, so it is called "stable", that is, thoroughly understanding the profound meaning with wisdom, and truly explaining the secret intention. Furthermore, only from the perspective of benefiting sentient beings, perfect action has four kinds. Among them, the second sign, in the way of making the mind close to stable, Dharma giving is the benefit of sentient beings. The fifth sign shows the power of Dharma giving. The fourth sign, in the way of making the body stable, material giving is doing the benefit of sentient beings. Showing the third sign is to generate its power, so that all things are completely given away without any concern. It should be understood as divided into five categories, that is, from the five branches showing nature to gathering are all like this, but it is not possible for one sign to have five situations at the same time. For these five, first show the nature, then
