Because of extensive exposition, for all kinds of fears, by means of the essential meaning and the abbreviated practice of letters, repeatedly expounding, thereby taking hold of those of inferior intelligence. Through four ways, in order to understand the Dharma and Vinaya taught by the Tathagata through meaning and letters, it should be known that it is explained through the teachings and so on. In order to briefly explain and remember, letters are established. It should be received in a non-inverted way, held by memory, and carried out in order. Answering the questions asked, explaining the meaning itself is the close accomplishment of the meaning, which is the antidote to doubt and ignorance. The so-called "gate of entry" refers to the gate of Samadhi such as the practice of contemplating impurity. In order to conceal the ultimate truth, the profound Dharma is taught, and because of clarifying selflessness, it is endowed with emptiness. Because it is explained with words that have hidden meanings, it is called the meaning of hidden intention. The so-called "which Sutras" refers to the Sutras that explain non-inherent existence and so on. In the Hearer Vehicle, it is explained through the nature of all Dharmas and so on, therefore, attachment to real things will be strongly abandoned with a destructive mind, thinking that this is not the teaching of the Tathagata. From these Sutras, the meaning of consistency, non-contradiction, and hidden intention is explained, allowing people to understand. For example, therefore it is said: Thus, these Dharmas are not in all of the all do not exist, which refers to transforming into the nature of non-things. However, because it does not exist in the nature that is universally distinguished by children, it is called non-nature. What is the so-called non-thing? It is said: The so-called thing refers to the place of the word of expression that relies on the manifestation of expression, from which the expressions of children arise. Even so, things do not exist in the nature of expression, because it transcends the realm of language and is the nature of ultimate truth. Therefore, it is non-nature. Just as the sky is free from defilement, free from elaboration, without form, is the interval and support of all actions, if it is free from the sudden defilement of form, it will be bright.

It is said thus. Similarly, the perfectly established entity that cannot be spoken of, also due to the sudden afflictions that are close by, is afflicted by the afflictions that are close by, and appears with all the elaborations of conceptual thoughts. If it is free from the elaborations of conceptual thoughts, it is naturally luminous. Therefore, it is shown to be like the sky. The elaborations belonging to the nature of conceptual thoughts of the consciousnesses are especially conceptual thoughts and so on. Attachment to that is manifest clinging. Thus, manifest clinging to conceptual thought is a synonym called attachment, because the place of action of form is entered by what is sudden. These conceptual thoughts are shown to be free from conceptual thoughts that enter with one's own and with 'of'. 'Noble Wisdom' is so called because when it is removed by the power of wisdom, at that time, the supreme wisdom of the supreme noble Bodhisattvas becomes the nature of the object of perfect accomplishment. Therefore it is said, 'Appearing' means that there is no nature superior to this, because that itself is the nature of perfect accomplishment. Therefore it is said, 'One should not seek another'. Just as illusion is free from things and non-things, and is a non-dual aspect, so all dharmas are like illusions. Thus, in the aspect of the non-dual nature of dharma, there is nothing else to be removed, because it is only promised as such, and because the extreme of slander has been abandoned. There is also nothing to be shown, because the extreme of imputation has been abandoned. Its enumeration is neither diminished nor increased, and so on. In order to show the meaning of not destroying, there are 'in truth' and so on. For the sake of accomplishing the desired meaning for the nine kinds of sentient beings, the obstacles that appear are thoughts of benefit, as it is taught in the sutra, like parents temporarily not giving to their children. The nine kinds of sentient beings are those who desire the necessities of the body, desire the means of gathering them, desire the place of craftsmanship, desire relatives and friends, and desire companions.
