Therefore, if that is the case, the wisdom of hearing and thinking will reach its peak. Therefore it is said: the peak of hearing and thinking. Complete maturation means obtaining the wisdom that arises from meditation. The initial attainment is special faith, because it follows the manifest realization of Dharma and meaning, and because all external refutations cannot be resisted. Immeasurable means following the five sciences. Complete perfection means not abandoning the hearing and thinking of Dharma and meaning. Not turning back is itself complete maturation. In short, fully knowing sentient beings and the container world is called knowing the world, because it follows the world. Through four ways, fully knowing sentient beings and the container world means entering sentient beings and the container world. Through eight ways, understanding the true meaning of the world and the ultimate meaning of the world. Then, looking at the sentient world with compassionate eyes, entering into suffering, seeing the helpless who have obtained the state of suffering are immersed in the suffering of samsara for a long time, and thus teaching. Suffering is called the word of teaching. Born and born again means obtaining the evil realms, indicating that an irremediable state has been obtained. Old and old again means indicating that the pleasing youth has been completely lost. Die and die again means that life is declining. Like this, after explaining the desire realm, the form and formless realms are explained, saying: die and die again, born and born again. What has not been obtained will not be obtained, and what has been obtained will not be stable, which indicates that the state of entering suffering has been obtained. Indicating that there is no protector and no refuge means that true liberation cannot be fully understood. Like this, it is impossible to obtain liberation by oneself, which indicates that there is no protector and no refuge. It is also said to know the prosperity and decline of the world, expressing respect for the sentient world, etc., as if being abandoned, so it is compassion.

It is called "dregs," and it should be strongly condemned. The dregs of life are short lives. The dregs of sentient beings are those who have fallen away from correct practice. Afflictions refer to evil deeds done out of attachment, and are called the dregs of affliction. Holding inverted dharmas as real is called the dregs of views. Universally engaging in dharmas close to the intermediate kalpa is the dregs of the kalpa. Speaking based on the dregs of life, such as "life is short," etc. The so-called "people" refers to the people of Jambudvipa. Because the lives of other beings are fixed. Not respecting the guru and those similar to the position of the guru, and not diligently engaging in virtuous deeds at the end of one's own karma, this is called the dregs of sentient beings. The meaning of these words is as previously stated. Most people nowadays are attached to what is not dharma, and are conquered by what is discordant. The sutra says that things belonging to evil dharmas are divided into two sections, with two and one, that is, the dregs of affliction and the dregs of views are spoken of. Among them, being attached to what is not dharma refers to the enjoyment of objects of improper attention, and being associated with the wrong conduct of desire. Being attached to what is discordant refers to seeking enjoyment through what is not dharma, that is, taking the wealth of others through acts such as theft. In order to show the evil deeds of the body, etc., that are completely taken up by this, it is said, "Holding weapons," etc. Universally engaging in non-virtuous, sinful dharmas is called the dregs of affliction. The destruction of the holy dharma refers to the complete decay and disappearance of the holy dharma, so that nothing remains. The so-called pretending to be dharma refers to appearing like its image, meaning similar to it, which is a synonym. For example, as stated in the Matters section. In order to show that inverted views precede, it is said, "The meaning of evil dharmas precedes." The so-called intermediate kalpa approaching refers to extremely severe famine, etc.
