Suffering from improper attention means engaging in merit with a non-meritorious mind, and due to one's own conceptual thoughts, many inverted thoughts arise, and due to the cause of being entangled by afflictions, one experiences individual sufferings. By engaging in many misdeeds, one will obtain the suffering of the lower realms in the future due to this cause. The suffering of entering is that in samsara, with impermanent things, in the manner of transforming into other states, being completely transformed and possessing, abandoning the previous state and obtaining another state. "The body is not comfortable" is synonymous with "I am impermanent." The suffering caused by unpleasantness is the near attainment of decline contrary to the seven perfections of desire.

Speaking from words is not praise, and directly pointing out faults is cursing. Desiring to obtain future matters from others is suffering. The five types of happiness mentioned in the chapter on self and other's benefit, from the cause of happiness to the senses that accord with the feeling of happiness, up to the maturation of the karma of happiness. Actions contrary to those are the suffering of the cause. Feeling happiness is the feeling of happiness that satisfies the body and mind. The happiness arising from enjoying food and the like is thoroughly distinguished by the cessation of the suffering of hunger and thirst. The opposite of that, merely the absence of happiness arising from enjoying food and the like, is called suffering. Feeling continuous suffering is the opposite of happiness. Manifest happiness is being free from the suffering of being at home. The opposite of that is called the suffering of being at home. The happiness of complete solitude is the solitude of abandoning desire, sin, and non-virtuous dharmas, which is the joy of the first dhyana. The opposite of that is the suffering of desire. The happiness of near pacification is the second dhyana and so on, where investigation and analysis are nearly pacified. The opposite of that is the suffering caused by investigation and analysis. The happiness of manifest enlightenment is having permanently abandoned all afflictions. What is incompatible with that is the suffering of ordinary beings. These four combined are the fifth. Again, there are five types: suffering arising from harm is the one mentioned earlier, and so on. Suffering arising from lack of resources is suffering arising from the lack of bodily resources. Suffering arising from imbalance of elements is suffering arising from pride in incompatible enjoyment. Suffering arising from the change of happiness is suffering arising from agreeable things changing into something else. Suffering arising from the afflicted aspect of conditioned existence is the suffering of formation. These ten types are called all types. Thus, starting from the explanation of the nine types that have not been abandoned, there are fifty-five sufferings. Adding the two together, there are one hundred and ten sufferings. In the stage of focusing on and believing in those,
