To be fully understood in four ways, namely, relying on a virtuous friend, a virtuous friend who does not deceive. By properly serving the virtuous friend, making him happy, that is its meaning. If these four ways are briefly summarized, then two kinds of offerings are clearly shown: the offering of practice and the offering of material things. The offering of practice is the act of serving when sick and not sick. Giving is clothing, etc. The act of accumulating is to be close with love and respect, which should be understood as the offering of practice. Knowing what is in accordance with the Dharma means that for meanings that do not contradict the Dharma, one properly practices oneself, which is called properly accepting. Fully accepting means following the guru's instructions. Mastering the point means diligently striving in the same way and not violating the guru's instructions. Practicing these two with respect is called unwavering. Not concealing one's own faults is confession. With the intention to know, it means approaching with the desire to know, and serving, that is, following with actions such as prostration. Asking questions is for the sake of cutting off doubts. Listening is all that he says. Well-spoken means that sometimes it may be encountered, but not always, like the Udumbara flower, which shows that it is difficult to obtain. Therefore, body, life, and enjoyment are easy to obtain, but well-spoken words are difficult to obtain, so one should disregard these and strive to listen to the Dharma, which shows this. Because it is the cause of obtaining the eye of the wisdom of the noble ones, it is the eye. By listening to the Dharma, one can see subtle and vast meanings, and in the future, one will be able to obtain the wisdom obtained through rebirth. Light means that even though the co-emergent eye has already been obtained, it can clearly and truly show the meaning of what is to be known before that. Because it is the cause of the fruit and the great benefit of the state of Nirvana. Hearing the Dharma is the right

Because it is the cause of joy without fault, such as places and higher views, it is the thought of joy without fault. The so-called "do not pay attention" means to try not to pay attention. Even if the precepts are broken, the lineage is inferior, the appearance is ugly, and the words are vulgar and not well combined, one should rely on its meaning. Even if one is angry and the words are unpleasant, one should not pay attention, because this shows the reason. Because the Dharma will never become faulty due to the faults of people, because people are people and the Dharma is the Dharma. Therefore, the faults of the Dharma will not arise from the faults of people, which shows that the Dharma is without fault. Therefore, Bodhisattvas of inferior wisdom who become disgusted by the faults of people should not listen to the Dharma. Not listening to the Dharma will lead to engaging in what is not beneficial to oneself, and one will become completely devoid of wisdom. After such careful observation, one should not pay attention to the five places, but should strive to listen to the Dharma. Bodhisattvas who practice the four immeasurables are of two types: those who are the same as ordinary people and those who are different from ordinary people. Therefore, it is said that after "how" and so on, in order to show the names of the four, there are "loving-kindness" and so on. The so-called three ways mean that Bodhisattvas, in short, should rely on the conventional and ultimate ways to practice the four immeasurables. The conventional way refers to the time when one has not yet realized the true nature in the stage of practice with faith and aspiration, thinking in the mind, "May all sentient beings be happy," thereby practicing the four immeasurables. Therefore, it is said, "Taking sentient beings as the object," and so on. There are two ways to distinguish by the ultimate way: practicing with the power of seeing the selflessness of people is called taking the Dharma as the object; practicing with the power of seeing the selflessness of phenomena is called without object. Thus, there are three ways. Classifying the four immeasurables is to classify them by the difference of objects.
