Do. Equal power is the power of clairvoyance. The path of a Bodhisattva is the practice of a Bodhisattva. A teacher is someone whom all the world considers a teacher. Even if one is equal to him, one does not show equality. Why? Because all the world will respect, honor, and serve him, and all the world will regard him as a teacher. If one shows that the meaning is the same, one will not regard him as such, and respect and honor will diminish. Seeing such a thing, one does not show that the meaning is the same. One possesses excellent qualities and powers, and is particularly superior. For those who believe in inferior Hearers, etc., all dharmas are inexpressible, and hearing and practice will not succeed, and so it is for those who are afraid. The so-called separate examination is because of the need to show that the meaning is the same in that way. For example, the Thus-Gone One shows that he and the Hearers, etc., have the same meaning. It is like doing the benefit of those who are tamed. One also wants to do the benefit of inferior beings, so one shows that one's birthplace, lineage, and clan, etc., are equal. Therefore, it is said, the so-called "thinking," etc. The third case is that those who should be exhorted, who enter through closeness and friendship, in order to make them firm in acceptance, one shows that the meaning is the same as them. This should be recognized as the most famous sameness of meaning. The so-called not entering into one's own and others' benefit means that for the benefit of others, one is also in a state of abandonment due to negligence, and one does not do the benefit of others by showing the same meaning. As stated in the Sutras such as the Tenth Ground Sutra, on the first ground, the perfection of giving is particularly practiced, and the objects of gathering also arise from giving. Similarly, it is the same for others. In order to show the necessity of saying both, it is said, "There, whatever shows various kinds of giving," etc. The activity of a Bodhisattva is twofold, namely, one's own.

Through the tantras, the Buddha's teachings are fully matured, and the external sentient beings are fully matured. Among them, the former is fully matured by the pāramitās, and the latter is matured by the objects of gathering. Therefore, all the virtuous root deeds of a bodhisattva are contained within these. Now, because the pāramitās and so on themselves are in accordance with attaining enlightenment, and the aspects of enlightenment are also universally practiced, excellent, and pure, therefore, in order to explain their cause, it is said, "By three causes," and so on. Among them, "cause" means "door," which refers to the excellent practice of virtuous dharma. Excellent practice refers to being contained by the faultless actions of body, speech, and mind, that is, universally practicing generosity and other dharmas from the three doors of body and so on. "Because of vastness" and so on are to show the aspect of excellence. Vastness itself is the meaning of becoming great. Because there is no distinction by the three causes, it enters into the entirety, therefore it is vastness. Not distinguishing sentient beings is the absence of discriminating thoughts that distinguish between self and others. Not distinguishing objects is the absence of discriminating thoughts such as, "This should be given, this should not be given." Not distinguishing time is because there is no discriminating thought such as, "Giving at this time." Therefore, entering from the perspective of all sentient beings, all objects, and all times is called vastness. Also, because there is no distinction, it is the greatness of totality. Because it is the greatness of totality, it is greatness. Thus, it is called greatness by relying on the greatness of the basis, object, and time. Because it is greatness, it is fully explained as vastness. In "relying on that cause" and so on, by extremely practicing the power of the cause of other lives, the universal practice is similarly shown. "In four ways" is because it is the union of joyful thought, therefore it is the extreme joy of faith and
