Speaking from the perspective of what is prescribed in the Vinaya, there are "with the basis" and "with emergence." This depends on those skilled in transgressions and those skilled in emerging from them, proceeding in order. Relying on those skilled in transgressions, for those to be tamed, whatever faults correspond to engaging in things that should not be done, from which the basis of training is established, that is, proclaiming it in due time, is called "with the basis." As it is said in the Vinaya, "The Blessed One has extensively shown this basis, this distinction, and from this thing." "With emergence" is also the same, teaching the Dharma established as the basis of training, and relying on those skilled in emergence, considering the time, place, person, and circumstances, it is also said that there is no transgression, such as "There is no fault for the beginner," and so on, which has been extensively shown. Such two types of Vinaya training, namely, prescribing transgressions and being skilled in emergence, are not something that others, such as Shravakas, can do, except for the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas. Therefore, it is called uncommon. From the perspective of what is prescribed in the Sutra, three types are taught. To teach "with reliance" is to teach the four reliances on the four objects. To teach "with taming" is to teach the path of emerging from all suffering. To teach "with miracles" is to rely on the three types of miracles in order to lead sentient beings appropriately. Among the four objects, the first two are Dharma and person. Among these, one should rely on the Dharma and not on the person, because at any time, a person may change from himself and become another. Dharma is also of two types, namely, the distinction between meaning and letters. Among these, one should rely on the meaning and not on the letters, because the letters fully show the untrue and true meaning through names and complete transformations. Meaning is also of two types, namely, provisional meaning and definitive meaning. Among these, one should rely on the definitive meaning, that is, the meaning of the words.

It is for the sake of understanding each individually. But it is not for the sake of the straightforward meaning, because it shows other meanings, so it is difficult to understand the meaning of the words. There are also two ways to obtain meaning closely: obtaining one's own nature closely is the consciousness that holds the object of appearance. Obtaining the general nature of non-inversion is being in accordance with detachment, and in accordance with the aspect of purifying all afflictions, it is the wisdom that completely holds the aspect. The first of these should not be indicated, because it is not in accordance with detachment. The second, contrary to this, should be indicated to those who possess the nature of wisdom. In this way, it is with reliance. Dullness is the difference in the power of the path. It enables one to comprehend that one will surely be liberated from all suffering. The term "irreversible" is a synonym for "extreme." The doctrine with meaning is the teaching of the Dharma with miracles. The six pleasant speeches should be divided into two types: following the training of discipline, and showing prohibition, and the teaching that definitively shows the meaning of all kinds of words from the sutras. Definitively showing the meaning of all kinds of words is based on the divisions of the four individual correct knowledges, as well as the nature and definitive words, and the fearlessness of individual correct knowledge. Dividing into seven types is the talk of worldly customs, as well as inferior, intermediate, and superior, etc., entering correctly as appropriate, giving the meaning as desired, and words of comforting those who are afraid, and showing to the ignorant with reason, and encouraging those who have entered into inversion to move towards the correct object, and even if one does not have the ability oneself, the domination of words that encourage others. The talk of worldly customs is truly pleasing, and universally pleasing. Giving the meaning as desired is of two types, namely, making it smaller than the beloved with all resources, and for all actions, in order to be smaller than the beloved, accomplishing those oneself as they really are.
