It is called "I follow." The commentary on the fourteenth chapter of the Prajñāpāramitā is complete. In short, the commentary called "As before" refers to what was previously taught, what to learn and how to learn, that is, to learn by accomplishing through the combination of the six pāramitās. Now, in order to fully explain that one should also learn through the combination of the four saṃgrahavastus, therefore, in order to show that the four saṃgrahavastus also correspond to the six pāramitās, it is said, "In short, as before." The first of the saṃgrahavastus is the nature of the dāna pāramitā, so thinking that by merely explaining it, it would also be explained, it is set aside, and only kind speech is explained, that is, the language that is good in the beginning, middle, and end is said to be the nature of kind speech. Because when hearing with the ear faculty, it captivates the senses and makes one happy, therefore it is good in the beginning. Because it is captivating, and the action is pleasant and endowed with complete forbearance, therefore it is good in the middle. Because it is complete bliss at the time of practice, therefore it is good in the end. Among them, pleasing words are good in the beginning. Truth is because there is no deception, and it is completely bearable, therefore it is good in the middle. Because it completely transforms into happiness and benefit, and the fruit of benefit and happiness is in accordance with the meaning of the Dharma, therefore it is called good in the end. Another way of saying it is that if one acts according to those words in the beginning, middle, and end, it will become the nature of nectar, and the well-spoken words with three branches should be known as the nature of kind speech. The three branches are pleasant, comfortable, and beneficial. Because it is pleasant, it is comfortable to the ear. Comfort is what makes the mind comfortable, that is, it generates joy at the time of practice. Because it is in accordance with the Dharma, it leads to higher realms and the fruit of definite goodness at the time of practicing the Dharma, so it leads to benefit and happiness, these are

is the very nature of a Bodhisattva's pleasing speech. In short, it should be understood that in every way it is faultless. In short, all pleasing speech should be understood as being divided into two types: the nature of worldly talk and the nature of Dharma-teaching talk. Among these, the nature of worldly talk is also of two types: because it should be engaged in at all times, it is constant; and because it should be engaged in at times when there is perfect prosperity, it is occasional. Of these, the former is that which truly delights, and the latter is that which delights all. That purity which truly delights should also be divided into two types: that which causes the abandonment of the faults of body and speech, and the manner of fully inquiring about four things. Among these, the faults of the body are the changes in facial expression that accompany the arising of harmful thoughts, anger, resentment, and jealousy. To show that these are absent, it is called "without a frown." The faults of speech are the lack of respect in the mind due to being filled with pride because of high lineage, etc., and remaining as if looking down on those who come before one. To show that these are absent, it is called "speaking frankly," and to show that one is proactive, one says to those who come, "Are you well?" etc., speaking first oneself. These two words are indicated by two other words, that is, the two words are indicated by relying on the order, "shining the face" indicates "without a frown," and "sending forth a smile and asking words" indicates "speaking frankly." Thus, the faults of body and speech are abandoned. To show the manner of fully inquiring about things, it says, "Are you at ease?" and so on. "Ease" and "well-being" are simply the absence of harm, and because there is no harm from spirits and non-humans, etc., it is called "without harm." The absence of the harm of illness is simply the balance of the elements. The absence of harm to the body and mind of others is simply being well day and night.
