From discipline to completely pure discipline. Thus teaching, it teaches the very nature of discipline; explanation teaches all disciplines; the detailed classification of explanation teaches difficult disciplines and so on. Difficult discipline is established in three ways: by completely giving up things that are difficult to give up, therefore taking vows, relying on the difficulty of taking them correctly; having taken them, even if one becomes impoverished, one does not completely give them up, therefore relying on the difficulty of guarding them afterwards; when walking and dwelling, one abides with very close mindfulness, therefore relying on the difficulty of being completely pure. Others are explained elsewhere, teaching the difficulty from the perspective of taking and guarding. Among them, guarding means that even if one is faced with decline, one guards them very completely and purifies them very completely. Great enjoyment can be inferred in four or five ways: the so-called four are the body by which one enjoys, and because of the richness of the body, it is great enjoyment. With whom, namely relatives, branches, from dear to satisfying ones. Those are also great because they are numerous and great. By whom is it accomplished, namely servants and so on, those are also great because they are numerous and great. What is enjoyed, namely food and drink and so on. Thus, the body is perfect, the retinue is vast, the retinue is numerous, and wealth and utensils are extremely numerous, therefore great enjoyment is taught. How in five ways? Why do the body and speech enjoy? For the sake of living, and those two are also great because they are great. The rest is the same as before. It is difficult because one abandons the numerous collections of wealth, grain, storehouses and granaries. Because there is much wealth and grain, the difficulty of great enjoyment is strong, and by the way of exercising power over those who are happy and content, one exercises power over the great lord. These three cannot be abandoned, and because those must be abandoned, it is difficult to take the vows correctly. It is also said in other scriptures that even if a wheel-turning king who exercises power over the four continents wants to, he becomes a nun in just one moment.

And having abandoned all wealth and enjoyment, completely turning to the Tathagata's teachings, it has been extensively proclaimed. The saying, "Falling into decline, even if it means life," indicates that even if afflicted by the suffering of death, one must abandon, because there is the phrase "for the sake of life." The saying, "For all walking, dwelling, and attention," is because for walking and so on, one possesses mindfulness and perfect knowledge; and dwells in diligence endowed with five branches. Because Bodhisattvas' thoughts and actions are pure, in the hundred paths, even in some circumstances, from the moment of correctly upholding them until death, they do not commit evil. Therefore, in terms of following and guarding the precepts, it is difficult. The precepts entered through four ways are the door to all precepts. Because it is accomplished through the distinction of actions, it is thus truly upheld. Because it does not rely on intention, manifestation, and aspiration, it is the nature of the precepts. Entering from a long and continuous time, it is habit. Because it is perfected by the objects of gathering, it is endowed with skillful means. The so-called dwelling in lineage refers to the state of universally practicing the marks of perfections such as generosity. Being without fault is the action of body, speech, and mind, which is the cause of the perfection of discipline, and thus the name of perfection can be obtained. Through the action of the distinction of habit, one becomes even more superior than the former, and more abundantly accustomed to discipline than the abundant. Therefore, it is mentioned, "In other former lives," and so on. Therefore, for example, being naturally clean, bathing and anointing the body is incompatible with impurity and is not pleasing, similarly, one naturally hates sins, and as its antidote, loves virtue and desires virtue. A Bodhisattva who diligently studies, the actions of body and so on, entered through generosity and so on, are the precepts endowed with skillful means, because the four objects of gathering are perfected by skillful means. In order to accomplish without harming oneself and others, one is a noble person, that accomplishment
