The so-called "evil speech" refers to speech that is entirely afflicted. The so-called "evil words" refer to indicating it through different names. The so-called "not accepting" refers to not speaking, which is a synonym for "not doing." Even in one out of a hundred cases, due to forgetfulness, not even a little bit of evil conceptualizations such as desire will arise. Even if they arise, they will be regarded as regret and faults, so neither of these will be fully practiced, but rather one will abide in mindfulness. The so-called "mind of not doing" refers to the intention of not doing, which is a synonym. Whatever mind arises will be abandoned, and if one is accustomed to abandoning, one will delight in not practicing at all, and will abide in a state that is incompatible with complete practice. The discipline of accumulating virtuous deeds and doing things that benefit sentient beings is vast because it is extensive and flourishing. Because it cannot be measured from the root, it is immeasurable. Because it transcends all objects of conceptualization, it is inconceivable. Because it does not stay for a short time, it is long-lasting. Because others cannot do it, it is extremely joyful. Fear is being afraid. Shyness is being timid. Shrinking back is because one thinks that even though one cannot do it, it might still happen. It only generates joy. Therefore, it is also said, "Those also became human beings," and so on. Thinking about one's own faults and errors that harm others, but not causing suffering to others, is to show certainty. When others do harm, the mind is not disturbed, and when others have done harm, one does not retaliate, and there is no harm, this is to show patience. Striking back is physical, and it is connected to the phrase, "Even if harm has been done, one does not hate in the mind." In order to separately account for past faults, it is in accordance with the past extreme. Because one strives in that way for future faults in the future, it is in accordance with the future extreme. Because one does not speak of faults that occur in the present, it is in accordance with the middle extreme. Because one engages in blameless physical and verbal actions after separately examining them, it is what should be done beforehand. Examining separately in that way is in order to engage in truthful conduct, so it is together with

Practice. Through the accomplishment of the complete ritual, it is stated, "Not flattering virtuous deeds," and so on. In order to endure suffering such as cold, one is indifferent to suffering. Because there is no displeasure due to not obtaining, it is the nature of being completely without affliction. Because the senses are subdued and peaceful, there is no agitation, and it is not frivolous. Through a fulfilling life, it is stated, "pretending to be virtuous," and so on. In order to realize the six perfections, because one abandons unfavorable factors and does not accept unfavorable factors, one establishes the discipline of accumulating virtue. It is certain that there are only five antidotes to the unfavorable factors of the five perfections. The Perfection of Wisdom has five aspects. Thus, the ten aspects that are the enemies of these will quickly accumulate immeasurable merits for the Bodhisattva who abides in them. If one is particularly attached to the body and possessions, one will look to the body and possessions. If there is attachment, one will not completely abandon it. Therefore, this is an unfavorable aspect of the Perfection of Generosity. If one does not accept it, the Perfection of Generosity will be realized. This is the concluding statement. Not taking up the basis of immoral conduct is the Perfection of Discipline. Not generating a mind of torment towards sentient beings is the Perfection of Patience. Not indulging in the pleasure of sleep is the Perfection of Diligence. Not generating afflictions of meditative concentration is the Perfection of Meditative Concentration. The unfavorable aspects of the Perfection of Wisdom are five kinds of perverse wisdom: not fully understanding the benefits of the fruits of merit, not fully understanding the cause of virtue, engaging in perverse conduct with regard to the results, not fully understanding the antidote to perversity, and not fully understanding what obstructs virtuous Dharma. By fully understanding the five antidotes that are the opposites of these, one demonstrates the accumulation of merit through the means of realizing the Perfection of Wisdom.
