Since the way of upholding the three types of discipline is the same, bodhisattvas should also be understood as three types. The discipline of a bodhisattva who has entered the teachings, no matter where they reside, is the discipline established by the Tathagata. Therefore, the "seven assemblies" are mentioned. Relying on the seven assemblies, because they are distinguished by the seven assemblies. The difference in form is the upasatha (one-day vow), because the upasatha vows are divided separately, they become eight types. Regarding the aspects of householders and renunciates, according to circumstances, the discipline of a male lay follower and the discipline of a female lay follower belong to the aspect of householders, because they are distinguished by being separated from misconduct. The others belong to the aspect of renunciates, because they are distinguished by being separated from desire. The sutra says, "Whatever virtuous dharmas, whatever they may be, arise from abiding in discipline," therefore it is shown that virtuous dharmas only arise, exist, and increase by abiding in discipline. After "having taken it correctly" is mentioned, for the sake of great bodhi, it is for the sake of correctly accomplishing great bodhi. This refers to the fact that in order to fully ripen the Buddha's dharma in one's own mindstream, it should be understood as the discipline of gathering virtue. In order to fully ripen sentient beings in the mindstream of others, it is the discipline of benefiting sentient beings. Therefore, the difference between these two is very clear. Other differences should be understood from the difference in intention and action. The mind is not mentioned because although there are also virtuous dharmas that enter through the mind door, they are not established separately because it is the occasion of discipline, because discipline is only of body and speech. This should also be understood through aggregation and separation, some virtuous dharmas are done through the body, etc., some are done through speech, and some are done through both. From the aspect of the basis, it is shown as three types from the perspective of arising from actions such as listening, i.e., listening.
