It was said to show that it does not have merit. Regarding "harming oneself and others" and so on, it first shows that help is given to those temporary things. Then, in order to prevent what should not be done, in order to become a virtuous friend and turn away from what should not be done, regarding "what should not be done is like this" and so on, what should not be done is those actions that destroy oneself and others, that is completely what should not be done, that is, the ten paths of unwholesome actions. Therefore, it is said "the ten paths of sinful unwholesome actions" and so on. Similarly, it first shows that one goes to help even those who have not temporarily requested or entrusted, in order to show that one goes to help those who have been entrusted and requested by others, so-called "being dominated by others and dependent on others" is, following the actions of others is being dominated by others. Therefore, it shows that abandoning oneself, each acts according to one's own wishes. The same discipline means that his actions and his own actions have the same nature. The same patience means that like his actions, he does not get tired of doing it. In order to show the reason for being dominated by others, so-called "soft heart" means being close and making the mind stream gentle. In order to show that even if others do harm, one will not be angry and resentful, it is shown by "not holding grudges for a long time" and so on. In order to examine from all aspects, until the mind is settled in a tiny state, in order to show this point, it shows that "immediately his mind will become good". In this way, first by showing entering without anger towards sentient beings, the discipline of entering is explained, then, by entering the four good deeds of speech, in order to show the sign of the discipline of entering, so-called "valuing truth" is, because valuing truth, even for the sake of life, enjoyment and kingship, one will not abandon truth, but consciously does not speak lies. So-called "disliking and not doing discord" means not having the idea of discord.

The meaning of 'not doing'. 'Not doing' means the intention of not speaking words of discord. 'Not valuing' means words that are used inappropriately. Words that are not beneficial to oneself and others are unnecessary. Because they are unnecessary, they are meaningless. Because one speaks pleasing words, one does not speak randomly. Not speaking to hurt the other person means not speaking to touch the other's sore spot. Even to one's own servants and other inferior people, one should not speak harsh words, let alone to others. In two ways, it is shown to turn away from harsh words. Not speaking when others cause harm means not speaking to hurt the other person. Praising virtues is shown by being fond of virtues. Regarding the harm that others cause, one should recognize the sign of the perfection of patience by taking it as patience that does not mind, but it is not patience that accepts suffering, nor is it patience that has a definite understanding of the Dharma. In two instances, one practices patience through thought and action, and the lack of patience is very base, and because it is accompanied by faults, it is something to be avoided, because it possesses faults. This patience also shows the thought when others cause harm: do not always think of retaliation, that is, do not think of harming again. The action is also not to harm, that is, not to intend to harm in one's mind. If, after causing harm, one asks for forgiveness and makes suggestions, then one should accept and listen to that forgiveness. To show the action of patience, the two sentences of not holding grudges and not holding resentment for a long time also clearly show the thought of patience. In this way, in both instances of thought and action, one should recognize the very patience that does not mind the harm that others cause as the sign of the perfection of patience. One should recognize the signs of the perfection of diligence by considering the five kinds of diligence and their fruits and benefits. One should always strive.

It is constant diligence, thereby abiding in the diligence of application. In order to show its sign, from "rising early in the morning" to "not indulging in too much comfort." Thus, it shows that one should not interrupt the continuity of diligence for things that should be heard. Reverence itself is the diligence of constant action, which is called having stability. Its sign is that if something happens, in order to accomplish that thing, it means when approaching the matter. There are two reasons for not applying oneself to it: not having the desire to do it, and indulging in laziness. Both of these are suppressed separately by the power of observation, and one applies oneself until it is completed. One applies oneself completely to the firm armor, and becomes joyful with the diligence arising from application, and by its sign, one becomes definitely firm by applying oneself equally to all things. Explaining the definite firmness, it is said, "One does not abandon diligence until it is not done or not finished," meaning that what should be done is not done, and what should be obtained is not obtained. "Not abandoning diligence in the middle" means that in order to be firm without the fear of sometimes the body and mind being completely tired and weary and not initiating diligence, one does not become discouraged by experiencing all suffering, that is, the essence does not change. By the diligence of not shrinking back, overcoming others becomes firm. Its sign is "the meaning is supremely vast." One's mind does not shrink back from the vast and great, and abundant meaning, that is, one does not think that one cannot completely accomplish things that are extremely vast and great, that is, one does not think that one cannot accomplish it oneself, that is, one does not despise oneself. Therefore, it is said, "I am able to understand this, I have the ability," this is to show that one generates joy. Insatiable diligence means that with the application of not being satisfied with something small or inferior, one does not abandon the diligence of applying oneself to virtuous dharmas.
