They say that it is shown in the same way that it is the cause of birth. Some say that the permanent will not become the cause of any dharma. Some say that it is because it is not applicable in the meaning of the ten kinds of causes. If someone asks, then, is it not said that the cause of complete holding is the root, object, etc.? The answer is that they think that its object is a compounded thing, because it is said that it is the meaning of complete holding. If so, then it becomes a co-existent cause. Also, some say that there are also seven kinds of causes, and this statement is considered from the cause of leading, the cause of producing, and the cause of manifesting, like this, the moment that becomes the cause of the later existence is not itself, etc., thus showing the difference from those other causes. Also, some say that because it is a thing, it is only the characteristic of the cause of birth, therefore it is said that impermanent dharmas also become the cause of impermanent dharmas, etc. What is called 'born and ceased' refers to preventing the future. Some say that what is called 'born' refers to the present arising. What is called 'ceased' refers to the past. Also, some say that it is also said that it is only the past. Also, some say that it is said that it is 'born and not ceased', and there are two kinds of discriminations of those, thinking that the present arising and the past are the present arising. What is called 'impermanent dharmas also become the cause of impermanent dharmas', if so, how does the result become impermanent on the cause of obtaining? Because mind and mental factors are the agents of liberation. What is called 'other thing', the cause of other things is simultaneous or later. What is called 'self-nature becomes the cause of later existence', for self-nature, it will become the cause of later existence, just as the eye is the cause of the eye that arises later. In this way, the faults of those who say that it is thought to be produced first are also answered. Therefore, what is called 'not that moment' is connected with one's own self-nature itself. If it transforms from the previous one, it will become the agent, if it does not transform

The phrase "not acting as an obstacle" refers to the function of becoming a condition for the result when it becomes a condition for the cause. The phrase "arising from harmony and suitability" also refers to a power. If it becomes harmonious, then it will produce things that are harmonious with itself. If it becomes suitable, then it will become a thing due to the condition produced by other things. The phrase "What is the establishment of characteristics and the separate establishment for this?" The "for this" refers to the elements and characteristics as they are in reality. Connect "What is the establishment of characteristics and the separate establishment for this?" to that. What is the nature of investigation and analysis? Investigation and analysis, which do not clearly cognize the object, are the nature of attention. The phrase "not clearly cognizing the object" means not definitively cognizing the object that needs to be examined in detail. At that time, it is only established as attention without wisdom. Investigation and analysis, which clearly cognize the object, should be understood as the nature of wisdom. The phrase "at that time, attention also exists, but it is not the main thing" means that when activities are carried out, wisdom gains an opportunity, and therefore overwhelms attention. Therefore, at that time, attention is not established as investigation and analysis. In this way, the nature of correct wisdom is only correct investigation, which will also be mentioned below. The scriptural authority for this is in the sutra "Distinguishing Meditators," which says: "Venerable one, what are the objects of investigation and analysis? Bhikshu, the objects of investigation and analysis are attention and wisdom. Venerable one, what is the establishment of investigation and analysis? Bhikshu, the establishment of investigation and analysis is the attention and wisdom that enter into the mind through mental expression." Do investigation and analysis exist in one mind? If speaking from the perspective of a moment, then they do not exist. Because one is the aspect of completely searching, and the other is the aspect of separately discriminating. Since the aspects are different, aren't they merely coexistent, like feeling and perception? Those two can coexist, because the entities are different.
