It is not obstructive. It is beautiful. It is beautiful for comings and goings, etc. It initiates diligence, to listen to the teachings that have not been heard, to completely purify the teachings that have been heard, not abandoning yoga, not abandoning attention, not abandoning the inner peace of mind. There is no fatigue, because teaching the Dharma to the four assemblies, there is no weariness in the heart. It possesses patience, even if he is angry, he does not return anger, even if he reveals shortcomings, he does not return revealing shortcomings, even if he argues or returns argument, even if he harms, he does not become angry or quarrelsome. The explanation for this is eightfold, namely: majesty, possessing explanation, possessing answers to debates, possessing distinctions, related to this, quoting from other sources, arising from courage, following the accomplished tradition. Regarding this, there are five kinds of retinue, namely: the retinue dwelling at home, the retinue of renunciates, the retinue possessing faith, the retinue harboring jealousy, and the retinue abiding in ordinariness. Regarding this, majestic speech should be known to be fivefold, namely: possessing reason, possessing metaphor, possessing the function of words, words and various letters, and being easy to understand. Regarding this, speech possessing explanation is for making the profound clear, and the clear is also proclaimed for combining with the profound. Regarding this, speech possessing debate answers, in short, should be known to possess the abandonment of five kinds of debate. Regarding this, speech possessing distinctions, for each and every dharma, also in the manner of emanating from one, up to ten kinds, in order to proclaim the distinctions on that path, for example, starting from the three dharmas, thus speaking, thereby widely practicing the four mindfulnesses, etc. Regarding this, speech related to this, is from the Sutra Pitaka and the Recitation Pitaka, etc., closely combining the explanations, and not making conclusions from other sources. Regarding this, speech quoted from other sources, is using other Sutra Pitakas to approach it.

What is it? Among them, the speech arising from pride is that which distinguishes according to the desired meaning. Among them, the speech that follows the tenets is that which distinguishes by relying on the mother tantras, or that which distinguishes by relying on other definitive schools. Among them, for the lay followers, the Dharma should be taught, which includes condemning misdeeds, praising good deeds, emptiness, and the precepts of near-abiding, so that they may turn away from misdeeds and enter into good deeds. For the ordained Sangha, the Dharma should be taught starting from the three trainings of abiding in discipline, higher morality, etc., so that they may quickly achieve it. For the faithful followers, stories of the greatness and power of the teachings should be told, for the sake of bringing benefit, happiness, and generating faith. Thus, when the speaker teaches the Dharma, he should encourage others to listen respectfully. How should he encourage them? There is one way, and there are up to ten ways. Among them, for the time being, there is one way, because the Dharma is the near cause of benefit and happiness. Also, for the Dharma, the four possibilities of being beneficial but not happy are as follows: Assuming that a Bodhisattva has properly and truly received the Dharma and is teaching it. There are also two ways, because the Holy Dharma is very rich. And this richness is because it is without fault and of great significance, and it makes the labor of speaking and listening fruitful. Otherwise, abandoning one's other tasks, the labor of speaking and listening will become meaningless. There are also three ways, because the Dharma can liberate one from the lower realms, can attain the good realms, and is the cause of attaining Nirvana. These three are attained by listening respectfully. There are also four ways, listening to the Dharma with respect can transform the Dharma itself, such as the Sutras, and the Dharma also speaks of abandoning various sinful and unwholesome dharmas, and properly taking various virtuous dharmas, and by listening to these, one can abandon and take, and abandoning
