That knowledge is the six consciousnesses. Action is the three actions. Discrimination is the six consciousnesses, and such things that are similar to it should be understood as the differentiation of self-nature. Furthermore, the differentiation of realms is the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm. Furthermore, the differentiation of time is the past, the future, and the present times. Furthermore, the differentiation of states should be known as twenty-five types, namely: small state, middle state, large state, happy state, suffering state, neither suffering nor happy state, virtuous state, non-virtuous state, neutral state, listening state, thinking state, meditation state, higher morality state, higher mind state, higher wisdom state, inner state, outer state, object state, subject state, unfavorable state, favorable state, manifest state, non-manifest state, cause state, and result state. Furthermore, the differentiation of individuals should be known as twenty-seven types of individuals as before. Furthermore, one's own statement or another's challenge should be answered in debate. In brief, there are five types of challenges: one who does not understand the meaning, because of not understanding, challenges by saying: what is the meaning of this sentence? Contradictory words, such as saying: the Bhagavan previously said it one way, but here he says it another way. Contradictory to reason, which means that everything that contradicts the four reasons is apparent. Many parts are all apparent, such as the Bhagavan showing that very meaning in various ways in various places. Extremely hidden, such as saying: the inner self is permanent, stable, constant, and true, and abides just as it is.

and so on with "is it or is it not?" The answers to these should also be understood in five ways in order: for what is not understood, it should be made understood; for contradictory words, they should be made to agree by correctly explaining their intention; how should contradictory words be made to agree by correctly explaining their intention? Just as it appears in many parts, it is the same for what is extremely hidden. What contradicts reason should be answered by explaining the black side, explaining the four reasons, and explaining that the result of so-and-so is this, thereby revealing the connection between cause and effect. Among these, answering with one beginning is for the sake of correctly and truly asking and correctly establishing the nature of the Dharma. Answering separately is for the sake of understanding the nature of the difference between those who ask properly and improperly. Answering after thoroughly questioning is for the sake of acknowledging one's position when seeking faults. Answering by setting aside is to set aside answering for four reasons, such as because it does not exist and because it is profound. For example, regarding "in the place arising from thought, the Tathagata exists after death," etc., just as previously stated, it is not reasonable to answer in the manner of conventional truth, nor is it reasonable in the manner of ultimate truth, and therefore it should be set aside. Among these, because the Tathagata does not exist, it is not a real thing in ultimate truth. Because it contradicts what is and is not the place and the path, and because the abandonment of its fruit is not completely accomplished, it is not possible to directly answer "the Tathagata exists after death" etc. in conventional truth. Among these, there are three kinds of connection: the connection of complete perfection, the connection of separate explanation, and the connection of accomplishment. An example of these three kinds of connection is when the Bhagavan said, "I am very young, extremely young, and exceedingly young when I went forth." This indicates the complete perfection of being very young. Father Śuddhodana widely proclaimed, "My residence was built very beautifully." This indicates the very young

This is his various explanations. Why did he renounce at a very young age? It is said that it is because he saw the nature of aging and sickness, etc. This is the connection of establishment. Where is it summarized and only presented briefly? It is said that in the place where the three feelings are explained, namely pleasant feeling, painful feeling, and neither painful nor pleasant feeling, etc., it is only a complete connection. It is said that those feelings are completely expressed by the remaining words. Like feelings, it should also be understood that it is the same for the four truths, etc., that the later words are the order of explanation in accordance with the first words. Among them, there are two types of connections of establishment. Sometimes the previous words establish the later words, and sometimes the later words establish the previous words. The connection of explanation should also be viewed in the same way. A speaker who possesses ten qualities is perfect in all aspects and is proficient in both Dharma and meaning. Among them, there are six types of Dharma and ten types of meaning. Being broad in speech means that it is because of much hearing, retaining what is heard, and accumulating what is heard. Being fearless in the assembly means that when teaching the Dharma to assemblies of royal families, etc., there is no fear, and there is no trembling of speech, sweating under the armpits, or forgetting mindfulness caused by it. Having good speech and possessing the function of speech means possessing speech with eight qualities, and being able to teach the Dharma to the assembly with rich words, phrases, and connections, etc. Speech with eight qualities means that the meaning of the speech is clear, pleasant, and so on. Being skilled in the connection of speech means being able to connect speech with twenty methods such as having faith and respect at all times. Entering the Dharma that is in accordance with the Dharma means not listening carelessly and acting as said. Having perfect conduct means that when speaking, he does not move his hands, does not move his feet, does not frown, does not shake his head, does not change his face, and does not shake his body.
