And, to make it the object of the means of obtaining it, and, to make it the object of others' subsequent loving-kindness. Among these, making it the object of the real thing is six kinds, namely: good rebirth, bad rebirth, decline, excellence, samsara, and nirvana. Making it the object of the means of obtaining it is twelve kinds, namely: the twelve conducts, the conduct of desire, the conduct of renunciation, the conduct of virtue, the conduct of non-virtue, the conduct of violence, the conduct of non-violence, the conduct that is in accordance with the aspect of decline, the conduct that is in accordance with the aspect of excellence, the conduct of complete defilement, the conduct of complete purification, the conduct of self-interest, and the conduct of benefiting others. Making it the object of others' subsequent loving-kindness is five kinds, namely: dispelling desires, truly explaining, truly causing to hold, truly praising, and truly making them rejoice. Among these, good rebirth is humans and gods. Bad rebirth is the evil realms. Among these, decline is of two kinds, dependent on others, and not dependent on others. Among these, the first is the decline of one's own life. Just as with life, color, strength, enjoyment, fame, happiness, and fearlessness, etc., should also be understood in the same way. The second is the decline of virtue, and the loss of the lord of power, and being known as weak, and disrespectful words, and scattered wisdom, and obtaining non-extensive forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile objects, and not focusing the mind on those extensive enjoyments, and those similar to them should be known as decline. Excellence is the opposite of these, and should be known as appropriate to each. Among these, samsara is good rebirth, decline, and excellence themselves. Nirvana is from the nirvana realm with remainder to the nirvana realm without remainder. Among these, the conduct of desire is, like this, enjoying the ten objects of desire.
