will be tormented by the pretas. This is the fault of this life at that time. Moreover, because of doing and accumulating the karma and afflictions that cause rebirth in existence, in the future there will arise differences in suffering such as birth, old age, and death, this is the next life. It should be known that the person who abides equally in mind is the opposite of this. This is the second, as before. Furthermore, the former person, because his mind does not abide equally, has the fault of ignorance of self and others. That is, he does not know as it really is. But the latter person, because his mind abides equally, knows as it really is. This is the third, as before. Furthermore, the person who abides equally in mind knows the fault as it really is, and enters the place of meditation. The other person, by meditating on the true view of selflessness previously obtained, will perfect all the dharmas that are in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment in both periods, with the realm of abandonment and the realm of detachment, while the former person whose mind does not abide equally will not perfect them. This is the fourth, as before. Furthermore, the much learning of the person who abides equally in mind, which is a branch of insight, is completely grasped by samadhi, and insight will become completely pure. Therefore, his shamatha and vipashyana will be equally combined. But it should be known that the person whose mind does not abide equally does not have both, even with much learning. This is the benefit of the fruit of true practice, that is, this person of dharma, having true view, much learning, is superior to the person whose mind does not abide equally. This person of dharma, having true view, much learning, is the fifth excellence of the person whose mind abides equally. Therefore, having thus obtained shamatha and vipashyana, in the realm of abandonment, what should be completely known is completely known, what should be abandoned is abandoned, what should be manifested is manifested, and what should be cultivated is cultivated. In the realm of detachment, it is complete knowledge, abandonment, and manifestation.

Having practiced and completed the practice, form (Tibetan: གཟུགས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: रूपा, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: rūpa, literal Chinese meaning: form) as the support and name (Tibetan: མིང་།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नाम, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: nāma, literal Chinese meaning: name) as the supported are also fully known. Will be fully known. Sanskrit Roman transliteration: avidyā, literal Chinese meaning: ignorance) as the support and craving for existence as the supported are also abandoned. Have been abandoned. Wisdom, the knowledge of complete purification (Tibetan: རིག་པ་རྣམ་པར་དག་པའི་ཤེས་པ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: विशुद्धविज्ञान, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: viśuddhavijñāna, literal Chinese meaning: pure knowledge), as the support and liberation, the abandonment of afflictions, as the supported are also manifested. Have been manifested. Śamatha (Tibetan: ཞི་གནས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: śamatha, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: śamatha, literal Chinese meaning: calming) as the support and vipaśyanā (Tibetan: ལྷག་མཐོང་།, Sanskrit Devanagari: vipaśyanā, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: vipaśyanā, literal Chinese meaning: insight) as the supported are also cultivated. Have been cultivated. There are two kinds of seeing the Dharma: seeing the conditioned Dharma and seeing the unconditioned Dharma. Among them, how is seeing the conditioned Dharma? Here, some people also thoroughly know the place of truth as it is, and also thoroughly know the truth as it is. What is the place of truth? Name (Tibetan: མིང་།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नाम, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: nāma, literal Chinese meaning: name) and form (Tibetan: གཟུགས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: रूपा, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: rūpa, literal Chinese meaning: form) are called the nature of man. What is the truth? Conventional truth and ultimate truth. What is conventional truth? Regarding the place of truth itself, whatever is perceived as self, or sentient being, or life, or creator, and the self imagines seeing various forms with the eyes, up to distinguishing various dharmas with the mind, and claims so. Like this, his name is this, like before, the length of life is this much, etc., applying names. For his imagination, claim, and application of names, these are merely conventional truths. What is ultimate truth? The place of truth is impermanent, like before, connected with dependent origination. Impermanence itself is like suffering itself, like this, for the place of conventional and ultimate truth, for the conventional truth, it is also considered the conventional truth, and for the ultimate truth, it is also considered the ultimate truth. The bhikṣu who thoroughly knows as it is can be said to possess the seeing of the conditioned Dharma. What is the seeing of the unconditioned Dharma? Regarding the place of truth, the wise one who is proficient in the two truths, relying on him, for the nirvāṇa where all aggregates are completely extinguished, the mind enters into peaceful observation.
