Therefore, because of completely overcoming all demons, it is the one who completely triumphs from war. Through the wisdom of cessation and non-arising, one will attain the complete conduct of Brahma. The six senses, as before, are completely pacified in five ways, and it should be known that they have the fruit of completely holding the three sufferings that are not pacified. In this life, abiding in complete affliction arising from the power of the senses, similarly, suffering in this life such as being harmed by others, or being slandered, or being killed, or being bound, etc., arising from the cause of constantly engaging in non-virtue, as well as the suffering of birth, old age, and sickness in the next life, and the untamed senses in the next life arising from previous habituation in accordance with the cause, this is also suffering because it is completely afflicted. The opposite of this is that the senses will become completely pacified in five ways, and it should be known that they have the fruit of the disappearance of the three sufferings. These two are the marks of not being a refuge for worldly Brahmins who have the arrogance of relying on a refuge and who claim to be a refuge. If one possesses these two, it should be known that one is not worthy of respect, and after receiving or being respected by others, one will become even more attached, the senses will become coarse, and whatever appears to be unable to endure heat, those are not abiding close to the conduct of being free from desire. Whoever maintains the bustle of holding together a household and a family of children, completely becoming afflicted, thereby supporting oneself, those people act so perversely that it is neither the conduct of benefiting oneself and others, nor is there discipline and Dharma practice, nor is there the practice of virtue that leads to heaven, nor is there the practice of virtue that leads to liberation from suffering, it should be known that there is no difference between them and all ordinary people. The opposite of this is that these Dharma practitioners should be known as true Brahmins. Apart from this, the non-Buddhist ascetics and Brahmins mostly have the benefit of seeking fault in teaching the Dharma to their disciples, and if they have the benefit of liberation from attachment, that is also...

We should understand that if it is meaningless and without benefit, it is neither beneficial to oneself nor beneficial to others. The Tathagata teaches the Dharma to the Shravakas, which has the benefit of realizing and liberating the fruit. It should be understood that its fruit is great, its benefit is great, and it is beneficial to both oneself and others. The three kinds of knowledge (vidyā) are called knowledge because of the distinction of the three kinds of objects, by the meaning of abiding supremely without confusion in the three times. Among them, the liberation of mind and the liberation of wisdom are the antidotes to the afflictions that are the root of existence and ignorance, hence they are called liberation. In order to obtain the knowledge and liberation that have not yet been obtained, it should be understood that the four paths are cultivated, that is, cultivating the senses and cultivating the body, and the good conduct brought about by cultivating the body, that is, cultivating discipline; the mindfulness of the bodhipakṣa-dharmas brought about by cultivating discipline, that is, cultivating the mind and wisdom. Among them, there are three kinds of cultivating the senses: mundane, trainee, and non-trainee. If, relying on the power of individual examination, one does not generate or eliminate the afflictive entanglements of inappropriate attention from pleasant and unpleasant objects, this is mundane cultivation. After realizing the truth, because of forgetfulness, both pleasant and unpleasant arise, causing the mind to be completely attached and not cease, but quickly liberating from it, this is the cultivation of the trainee. When that mind abides only in that, like the former, the inner mind is not narrow, and it is extremely liberated and well cultivated. At all times, only because of forgetfulness, it does not conform to the appearance of relying on pleasant and unpleasant things, etc. This is the cultivation of the senses of the non-trainee, which should be known to be extremely pure. Likewise, it should also be understood that there are three kinds of cultivating discipline, mind, and wisdom, that is,
