When that existence overpowers with its might, it seeks everywhere, and when evil is especially practiced and wrongly accomplished, then, as before, one will be overpowered by sinful and unwholesome dharmas. Wrongly accomplishing is going on the wrong path. Entering the wrong stream is called the wrong stream. The white side, which is the opposite of that, should be understood as not going against the stream. 《Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra, Basic Section》, Volume Eleven. The path of the Bodhisattva in his last existence, who diligently cultivates the path and the path of fruition, is summarized by eight aspects. It should be known that it surpasses the Śrāvakayāna and is unsurpassed. What are the eight? They are: loving-kindness, manifest joy in oneself, practicing the Dharma with patience, definite renunciation, practicing the truth oneself, correctly striving and manifestly realizing the great worldly right view that has been well cultivated, and attaining the cool nature by relying on obtaining the undefiled dharmas of the Bodhipakṣa, and the path of cultivation that is endowed with the purity of cultivating the limbs of enlightenment, and obtaining the six kinds of unsurpassed perfections by relying on the complete cultivation of the six places. In this regard, the Bodhisattva of the last existence, having cultivated the mind with loving-kindness towards sentient beings for a long time, is carried away by the stream of the river of existence, and feels compassion upon seeing children suffering in five ways. What are the five? It is that he sees the river of existence, which is composed of the unpleasant water of evil thoughts, and is endowed with touch. The inner and outer sources of birth, and the two banks of the flames of the fire of desire, hatred, and ignorance. Entering into it, there are many sufferings of the desire realm, and many harms and various thorns are laid out. In the middle, one is blind because of the lack of the worldly eye of wisdom of the form realm. Above, although the worldly eye of wisdom is complete, it is truly seen that it has become darkness upon darkness because of the lack of the noble eye of wisdom. Thus, that river of existence, with touch, banks, feet, and middle,

Seeing that there is no complete peace from any aspect, and generating great compassion for the beings who have fallen there, this is called loving-kindness. He who possesses that loving-kindness is born in a king's palace or in the house of a minister. Even while living at home, he develops a strong renunciation, resolving to realize the supreme state, and that he will not turn back. 'I will go to the pinnacle of pure conduct!' This is his own renunciation. Even before leaving home, he goes alone to a secluded place, sits in the shade of a jambu tree, and enters into the first dhyana. He truly realizes and endures that he and others are of the nature of aging, sickness, and death. This is his own practice of dharma, endurance. Impelled by the roots of previous virtue, and dominated by the renunciation of the practice of dharma, endurance, he abandons vast desires, resolves to renounce, and even without having taken the vows of pure conduct, he himself properly takes the vows. Relying on those vows, he enters into the state of neither perception nor non-perception, this is called his renunciation. Not being pleased, he abandons the worldly path. For the sake of renunciation, having heard of the unsurpassed renunciation from the previous perfectly enlightened Buddhas, he goes to the foot of the Bodhi tree in order to fully cultivate desire in his mindstream. Considering the previous contemplation on aging, sickness, and death as the sole path, he begins to examine its truth as it is. Alas! This world has entered into a state of distress! Like this, they are born and born again, grow old and old again, die and die again, yet these beings do not truly know the real renunciation before aging and death. Gradually, relying on properly attending to the arising of aging and death, the cessation of aging and death, and the path that leads to the cessation of aging and death, and by perfectly accumulating vast accumulations, with innate wisdom, he fully knows the sphere in which all dharmas abide.
