The universally clinging places that cause the entry of demons, accompanied by many defilements, should be thoroughly understood and abandoned by the wise. These are: the universally clinging place that experiences the taste of the sense fields, relying on the happiness arising from the meditative absorption of individuals who are free from desire; the universally clinging place that arises from joy, attachment, special clinging, and abiding in special clinging through the senses, based on the five sense pleasures that are not free from desire; the universally clinging place of attachment to those who benefit sentient beings and anger towards those who harm them; the place of happiness that plunders coarse and vast realms; and the place of suffering that is to be sought, examined, and especially clung to in the three times. For these, the distinctions of ugliness, agreeableness, satisfaction, and loveliness should be understood as before. Unpleasantness is what is unwanted from the perspective of future time. Disagreeableness is what is unwanted from the perspective of past time. Dissatisfaction is from the perspective of unwanted objects of recollection. Unloveliness is from the perspective of the feeling of desire. Suffering is also from the perspective of unwanted objects. Harm is also from the perspective of unwanted feelings. Discord is the unwanted of past time. Decline is the unwanted of future time. Defilements are of two kinds: defilements of external objects and defilements of internal feelings. Among these, especially clinging to forms and other external objects based on the eye and other senses is the defilement of objects. Especially clinging to internal feelings based on touch is the defilement of feelings. For the cessation of nirvana, where both are absent, there is no place for demons and all opponents. Craving and views in all aspects should be understood as being defiled in fifteen ways, namely: universally binding the aggregates through universal entanglement, and closely binding through habitual tendencies.

And, especially combined from the perspective of self-view, it is similar to what is described in detail from the collection of terms. 《Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra》, Local Division, Compendium of Topics, Volume 10. The general summary is: similar cause and just condition, the part of desire is large, being in the same place is the last. The summary is: similar cause and inconceivable, bondage and liberation, sign and wisdom pervade, faith and closed door, teaching and manifest joy, the sign is the last to be declared. Here, the noble Śrāvaka follows the understanding of no-self with a similar cause, and abides by truly observing consciousness in three ways. With a similar cause, how does consciousness abide in no-self? Whatever the five sense bases are, and the body that arises from the four great elements, its impermanence of increase, decrease, taking, and discarding is manifest, and the impermanence of consciousness arising from that condition also follows. Whatever is impermanent is suffering, and whatever is suffering is no-self, thus also following no-self. How does one follow no-self and become true seeing? The root of wrong view is self-view, because that root has long been truly cut off. That consciousness also acts in various forms due to the difference of support and object, which is seen with true wisdom. As consciousness acts in this way, even in a moment it does not truly see that there is essence, let alone permanently. The cessation, peace, and non-proliferation of the six sense bases should not be thought of in four ways that have proliferation, should not be observed, should not be fully questioned, but only as an act of thinking about observing the differences in the wisdom of others. What are the four? Existence, or non-existence, or different, or non-different. Whatever of the six sense bases has birth and also has destruction, then it also has mutual differences in nature. Relying on its birth and destruction, existence or non-existence is also not found. For mutual differences in nature
