Regarding this, the situation will not change unless it is destined not to become someone who will definitely do it. Furthermore, if some ordinary individuals from here abandon their attachment to desire and correctly uphold the precepts, they will not create evil deeds at the time of death. Since they will not even experience the ripening result, how could they look at it after being born there? Even so, in other instances, they will still create those deeds and experience the ripening result, but they are not completely liberated. Moreover, if those who wish to learn abandon their attachment and correctly uphold the precepts, and attain the first or second fruit of a contemplative, then for those bodies that suffer much due to negative karma, they should abandon it and blame themselves for the sins they have committed, so that they may experience happiness or suffering in this very life. I wish that it would be like this, experiencing only a moment in this life, and not experiencing its ripening result in later rebirths or other instances. Therefore, in order to abandon it, with a correct mind, aspire like this: in order to completely cut off the cause of that very deed, and in order to become free from attachment to desire, cultivate the immeasurable, and correctly combine the samadhi that is in accordance with the direction of calm abiding. For that thought that has become malice, or the thought of harming, or the practice of jealousy, or excessive attachment to lovely things, due to these reasons, treating sentient beings in a wrong way, creating various sins through body, speech, and mind. If, as an antidote to these four causes of karma, one cultivates the four immeasurable samadhis, then even a child will not think of committing sinful deeds against anyone, because that is not a possibility. Therefore, know that striving to cultivate it is to strive to completely cut off the cause of unwholesome deeds. By striving in this way, one will be able to suppress the sins that have been committed and accumulated through two causes, by cultivating the immeasurable samadhi, that sin is towards sentient beings...

It is aroused by the thought of harming. Fully cultivating the immeasurable is to have the thought of benefiting immeasurable sentient beings. The mind that arouses non-virtuous actions is an inferior realm, like an unfavorable aspect, while the mind that possesses the cultivation of the immeasurable is a good realm and an antidote. All actions depend on the mind, therefore the mind is the main thing. Because people arise from the cause of the mind, it is said that the mind has freedom and relies on and abides in the mind. Thus, relying on past aspirations, cultivating the samadhi of the immeasurable mind, that is, at the moment of being free from the desire of attachment, one will truly abide in the state of non-return. If one is content with just that and does not strive further in this life, then this life will not become the cause of doing that action. What need is there to mention the next life or multiple rebirths? In the next life or multiple rebirths, it will also not become the cause of experiencing its ripening. From this, those who fall into wrong views and enter the wrong path, the virtuous and non-virtuous actions aroused by views and arising from the power of views are vain. The actions aroused by strong attachment and hatred are sinful. Those who are intensely ignorant, mostly dull, forgetful, and of low intelligence, the actions aroused by ignorance are dregs. All good conduct that leads to happy migrations is pure. All good conduct that leads to nirvana is that of the capable one. The non-virtuous actions of different places that will cause sentient beings to be born in hell are black, and their ripening is also black. The virtuous actions of different places that will cause one to be born in the heavens are white, and their ripening is also white. Those that are not in that place are mixed black and white, and their ripening is also mixed black and white. Because there are two kinds of actions in one place, they are therefore shown together. The supramundane, uncontaminated action is neither black nor white, and it is also an action without ripening, it is the action of the exhaustion of action.
