is unbearable. Anger and beating, and revealing secrets, and in turn revealing secrets is the same as that. Attachment to one's own enjoyments is clinging. Attachment to the enjoyments of others is complete clinging. Similarly, for the good and the bad, it should be understood that they are combined accordingly. Excessive attachment to objects is desire. Excessive attachment to wrongdoings is unlawful desire. Clinging to the enjoyments of oneself and one's parents, etc., and to correct enjoyments, and to the possessions of others is unbearable attachment. If one sees the aggregates as self or as belonging to self, then the view that arises together with conceptual thought is the view of the aggregates of destruction (satkayadrishti). Relying on the view of the aggregates of destruction, seeing the aggregates as permanent is the view of existence (bhava-drishti). Seeing annihilation is the view of non-existence (ucchheda-drishti). The five obscurations are as before, and should be understood as arising from the state of equanimity. Being overwhelmed by sleep that is not desired and untimely is drowsiness. Desire for what is not a place is non-joy. The coarse, unpleasant state of the body makes the mind unable to function, so that stretching and contracting the body is agitation. Not knowing the amount of food is not knowing the measure of food. Not doing what should be done, and doing what should not be done, and for the teachings that have been heard, thought about, and meditated upon, neglecting them and not letting them enter the mind is non-attention. The mind is oppressed by the sleep of drowsiness attached to the object of focus, and therefore acts unreasonably, and belittling oneself is discouragement. Having the nature of harming others is malice. Having the nature of mockery is being quick to mock. Deceiving the abbot, the lama, the benefactor, and the Dharma friend is dishonest. The actions of body and speech are rude, and the mind is rough and unpleasant is harshness. Disagreement in discipline, view, conduct, and livelihood is establishing disagreement. With a mind of attachment, focusing on desires, and thinking and familiarizing with the mind, and doing it again and again is desire-thinking. Focusing on the cause of harm done by others

With an afflicted mind, focusing on the wealth of patrons and familiar families, thinking and familiarizing oneself with the mind, and doing it again and again, is the thought that is equal to the wealth of lineage. Sorrow and so on should be understood as before. Accompanying is because of pervasive entanglement, so all afflictions have pervasive entanglement. The eight near afflictions continuously accompany in four periods, therefore they are established as temporary pervasive entanglement. Among them, in the training of higher morality, shamelessness and lack of embarrassment obscure through the way of accompanying. In the training of higher mind, it is drowsiness and sleep. In the training of higher wisdom, distinguishing the dharmas is agitation and regret. When enjoying dharma and wealth with dharma friends, stinginess and jealousy obscure through the way of accompanying. Attachment to desire and hatred, etc., the great afflictions that correspond to desire, the great afflictions that correspond to the desire of practice, not being cleared away, are the streams of desire. The streams of existence, views, and ignorance should also be understood accordingly. Attachment to desire and

Those who do not abandon offspring are the river of desire for those who have not examined. Those who do not abandon desire are the river of existence. Most non-Buddhists should be known as two rivers, namely, what is wrong view, and what is the cause of wrong view, combined into one. Those who behave similarly, for those afflictions themselves without increase or decrease, are called unions. The grasping of the two directions should be known to be divided into four types, namely, the direction of householders, and the direction of renunciants who are outside of this. Among them, what is grasping, by what is grasping, and why is grasping, all of those are called grasping. Among them, what is grasped? Namely, grasping desires, views, precepts, asceticism, and the assertion of self. By what is grasping? Namely, by intention and desire in four ways. Why is grasping? Namely, to obtain and enjoy desires, this is the first. Or, being dominated by gain and respect, to seek the faults of others. To be liberated from clinging, this is the second. Relying on the limbs of tranquility and abiding, to be liberated from worldly desires up to. To attain the realm of neither perception nor non-perception, this is the third. For the sake of applying names after distinguishing the agent and the person who enjoys its fruits, or the person who is regarded as entering and returning, this is grasping the assertion of self. Those four graspings belong to two directions, namely, the direction of householders who enjoy desires, and the direction of renunciants who have renounced the wrongly spoken Dharma and Vinaya. These Dharma practitioners promise to proclaim the complete knowledge of abandoning all grasping, even if they are bound by afflictions and die, they do not establish any grasping, because they do not pay attention to desires, but pay attention to renunciation, precepts, asceticism, and the assertion of self, and do not acknowledge it either. For those Dharma practitioners who speak wrongly, there are two kinds of differences.
