Meaning of To. This Dharma is to be understood through the careful examination of the wise and the intelligent. These items are also like this, and should be understood as arising from the collection of items. The meaning of what the Thus-Gone One has spoken should be understood in all of everything in two ways, namely through scripture and realization. Among these, scripture is the wisdom that arises from the hearing, thinking, and meditating of ordinary individuals. Realization is the wisdom of those who are learning and those who are not learning, and what is obtained after that is worldly wisdom. Among these, one who does not understand all of everything in the meaning of what is said, and who does not realize that pride is pride, and who does not abandon it, is an ordinary person who does not see self as self. Among these, one who understands all of everything in meaning, and who realizes that pride is pride, but does not abandon it, is a learner. One who does everything is a non-learner. Here, although the Thus-Gone One knows the conventional truth and the ultimate truth as they truly are, if he sees that answering in the manner of both is inappropriate and harmful, he does not answer or agree, such as whether there is existence after death, non-existence after death, both, or neither. Among these, the Thus-Gone One thus first directs his wisdom and vision, but if there are those who think that not answering is simply not knowing, then it should be clearly understood that they are ignorant with that view. These two are the changes of conditioned phenomena. The change of aging is like some people here who become old, having lived for one hundred and twenty years since birth, and therefore it is called physical illness. The change of mental unhappiness is what is called mental illness. Among these, there is nothing to rejoice in for children and the wise in the first change. In the second, the wise have it, but the children do not. Among these, if a child becomes physically ill, then the mind will also definitely become ill. Although the wise become physically ill, the mind does not become ill, therefore, this is the difference between children and the wise here. Excellent!

The so-called "hearing the Dharma" refers to hearing and thinking. The so-called "good attention" refers to meditation. The so-called "good practice" refers to the aspect of being as it is. The so-called "good understanding" refers to how many aspects there are. The Shravakas, in two ways, namely, by truly asking the teacher who speaks of completely knowing the abandonment of all close attachments, thereby adopting. What are these two ways? Namely, what is it that speaks of completely knowing the abandonment of all close attachments, and for what purpose. In this regard, the Tathagata speaks of completely knowing the abandonment of all activities. For those who have not abandoned close attachments, three kinds of faults are truly seen, while for those who have abandoned, three kinds of benefits are truly seen. In this regard, for those who grasp close attachments to activities, when the activities change, sorrow and other things will arise. Therefore, this is the first fault, which is caused by the change of the obtained activities. Furthermore, for those who grasp close attachments to activities, when they engage in the complete search for obtaining the activities that have not yet been obtained, they will practice various kinds of non-virtuous deeds. Therefore, relying on that complete search and that non-virtuous deed, they will abide in four kinds of suffering. Namely, appearing and near, very near; arising and abiding; caused by harm from others; caused by one's own afflictions. This is the second fault. Because he has truly taken those sinful non-virtuous dharmas, therefore, after separating from the body and dying, he will fall into the evil realms, it should be known that this is the third fault. The opposite of this is the three benefits of abandoning all close attachments, which should be understood accordingly. It should be known that the three kinds of perfect views of the three kinds of noble beings will be completely liberated from the three kinds of suffering. Who are those three kinds of noble beings? Namely, the ordinary person who abides in the forbearance of selflessness with perfect view, and those who have entered the undefiled path of true seeing.
