Because there is no explanation of place, abiding in the bliss of signlessness, therefore abiding and attaining complete nirvana in this very life, thus entering the ranks of the extinguished. Regarding the three dharmas, from the perspective of one's own benefit, one relies on them for protection, and from the perspective of others' benefit, one relies on them as an island. What are the three? Diligently cultivating the dharma that accords with the Dharma, preceded by internal attention; listening to the holy Dharma spoken by the Tathagata; and properly relying on holy individuals who are in accordance with the Dharma. One should not rely on others, such as non-holy individuals, or those external to this, from outside traditions. In no way should one rely on them. These three dharmas show the four secluded dharmas of Mir Gurupa, namely, properly relying on holy individuals, listening to the holy Dharma, proper attention, and diligently cultivating the dharma that accords with the Dharma. Therefore, it should be understood that nirvana through these limbs is of three causes. Through five aspects, completely knowing suffering, seeing the faults of all conditioned things, the source of suffering, and transcending all suffering such as sorrow. Among these, relying on the category of suffering, sorrow and the like arise; this is completely knowing their nature. If one's own seed exists, it will arise; this is completely knowing the cause. Relying on the object of one's own field of activity; this is completely knowing the condition. Manifestly clinging to those conditioned things that are the source of suffering as 'mine,' and truly seeing them as 'self'; this is completely knowing the companion. If one truly sees the faults of conditioned things that are associated with desire in the three times, then abandoning all suffering such as sorrow, it should be understood that this is called nirvana through the limbs. Among these, afflicting the mind through sorrow due to the change of pleasant objects is called sorrow. The verbal expression arising from that is uttering lamentations. Because of beating the chest, it is suffering. Because of inner grief, it is discomfort. Becoming completely deluded is

is disturbance. Furthermore, depending on newly arising suffering from enjoyment, being without illness, and the suffering of relatives, or any suffering whatsoever, whatever becomes unpleasant is called sorrow. Based on that, the subsequent verbal expression and suffering throughout the body are the state of lamentation and suffering. The unpleasantness of lamentation and suffering, having passed, subsides slightly during the day, and whatever becomes displeased is the state of unpleasantness. After the first day has passed, again, due to that, for two or three days, or five or ten days, or half a month, or a month, or even longer, being displeased is called disturbance. Summary: Like enemies and sprouts, all extensive afflictions, proceeding one and likewise learning, completely despondent in four ways. In well-spoken and ill-spoken words, there is a difference in mindfulness. The Thus-Gone One, although not an enemy who hates the world in four ways, nevertheless the world considers him an enemy. What are the four? Showing the meaning of reason, showing the meaning of correctness, showing the meaning of benefit, and sometimes harmonizing with the mind. In this regard, the Thus-Gone One teaches the Dharma based on four kinds of reasoning, as before, based on relative reasoning, the reasoning of action, the reasoning of proof by logic, and the reasoning of the nature of Dharma, therefore he is called a Dharma speaker. The Thus-Gone One is like this: he does not teach the Dharma for the sake of a slight basis for seeking fault for the sake of arguing. Why is that? Because worldly people consider the benefit of others to be the opposite and inconsistent with their own benefit, so they argue, but the Thus-Gone One considers the benefit of others to be his own benefit, so how would he argue? Because of compassion, he only teaches the Dharma in order to obtain that benefit. Hateful worldly people perversely think that this meaning is only for others, and our meaning is also for others, so they argue, this is that
